training help
    #422535 -

Can you start training your plants a week or so into flowering?

The reason i ask this is because say somebody plants like 5 seeds hoping that 1 or 2 will end up being females. They wouldnt want to train 5 plants that might end up being males would they?

would it be a bad idea to use LST (tieing them down) right after signs of sex?

Smack them and tell them they're fucking lazy.  LST work is dead simple and effortless.  Tell them to quit being fucking lazy and do it right.  The whole point of LST is to train your plants while in veg to produce multiple growing tips.  LST'ing during flowering will increase light penetration, but it won't be as effective as if you had trained them during veg if you're looking for yield increases.

To answer your question tho, you can do some training during flowering but it's better to do it in veg. The only reason I ever trained a plant during flowering was it it was getting too high and I feared it would be seen because it was so tall.

In that case I would pinch the stem until it gave and then bend the cola down gently as to not break it off. This shortened the plant and also increased bottom growth.

I wouldn't wait to train them indoors tho, but if they get too close to the lights I would do what I have done outdoors but to stop it from getting burnt by the light instead of being seen.
