My Fert. Lineup (FoxFarm ++)
    #410780 - 05/03/10 01:14 AM (6 years, 7 months ago)

I am able to legally purchase clones locally, so that's all I do for the time being.  Just bring home rooted clones in 4" pots which I transplant and finish in 5gallon buckets full of Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil.

Here's my most recent lineup, starting with molasses and a FoxFarm nutes base:

Unsulphured organic blackstrap molasses (often using a full tablespoon per gallon of RO water)

Growbig
Big Bloom
Tigerbloom
(all from Foxfarm) (I follow their schedule but cut back the quantities recommended).

Fox Farm solubles (for flowering)--- Open Sesame, Beastie Bloomz, Cha Ching

Supplements:

Humboldt County's Own whole supplement line---
Snowstorm Ultra
Gravity flower hardener
Bushmaster (I haven't/won't use Bushmaster with every clone or strain)
Purple Maxx
****Don't listen to those saying that these products kill plants-  some cultivators are just misusing these products.  Snowstorm and Purple Maxx are used alongside your normal nutes while Bushmaster and Gravity should be used solo.

Silica Blast---- yep, using it indoors. How about you? (I was worried a bit about heat stress and read some posts from Magash recommending to add this at 1/4tsp per gl starting early in the vegetative cycle)

Cal-Mag+ ----- (I've been adding just a couple ml to a gallon)

Sweet (berry) ----- (Haven't usually been using this because I use near a full tablespoon of molasses per gallon)

Thrive Alive B-1 (organic version)  ----Made by TechnaFlora.  I bought this as a nutrient for newly rooting clones, but it is kelp based and is sometimes added to my fert. mix, but could also be used in a foliar application

Humega ---- There are lots of humic acid supplements on the market, this one is from Botanicare.

Foliar Spray:

I don't usually mind shelling out some dollars for most of my fertilizers, but I have really not wanted to spend more money on foliar sprays which I don't always use. A number of my above soil ferts can be mixed up and used as foliar sprays as well, but I have been sticking with using the Thrive Alive B-1 along with sample bottles of a couple different wetting/delivery agents I've been able to score.

FLUSHING:

Clearex (from Botanicare) -------  Often doing the two flushes.  That is one a few days before flowering, and the final one before harvest.  Sometimes I only do the final flush with my 5gallon buckets.  Three gallons of water per gallon of soil.

I'm using those exact nutrients minus beastie bloom and add bat guano on top of the soil and alaska fish fert. They work amazingly i have for indicas ranging from 3.5 feet to 5 feet all with leaves bigger than your hands =]. think about getting fish emulsion and dried bat guano.

Happy growing!

I appreciate the response Ganjaryan.

Anyone have any input on using any of these "clearing" products during a good flush of the soil?  I hear Botanicare clearex is the one to get.

BUMP:  I guess what I am wondering about it is how many times are folks here using it during a grow.  Some say three times, some say just once right when starting the final flush in the last week or two.

I would use Clearex at least twice during your grow.  Once right before you go into flowering to get rid of built up salts and whatnot.  And then right before the flush.

You could also do it a couple of other times if you flush your plants a lot.

Looks good to me....

Have heard a lot about the Fox Farms stuph, but being up here in Canada, I'm not sure if I can get that stuph anywhere up here.

Have been using Dutch Nutrient Formula, Gro/Bloom/Hydrothrive (made kinda locally, despite the name) as my base nutrients, with much success so far. Augmenting these with some of the Advanc3d Nutr!ents products (Bud C4ndy, Kushi3 Kush), and DM P3n3trat0r, as well as (no-sulphur) molasses off the grocery store shelf, and C4lpl3x from Botanicare.

Biggest thing I like about DNF is their price tag  Their ratio of nutes-to-water is pretty good, too. Prolly going to go with their clearing formula when the time comes, or perhaps Botanicare's.

Am going to try both Bud Bl00d, as well as V00d00 Ju!c3, for my next gardening project (bit outta reach right now)

I updated my original post.  Also, I think I will try the addition of guano on top of the soil as recommended above.

Any additional input? :mushroom2: ~P~

sounds like a great combo,
but i personally stay away from the Humboldt County's Own---
Snowstorm Ultra, Gravity flower hardener, Bushmaster, and purpleMaxx
I've heard that they sorta mess with the way a plant naturally grows,
making the smoke odd, or leaving black ash

i use bloombastic instead for increased yield, denser flowers, resin production
so far I'm hooked,
the first time i used it, my flowering plant went from smelling like basil, to smelling like cotton candy

whats nice is you can add it to your nutrient solution w/o having to use less fert
with most of the Humboldt products mentioned they say to use 1/3 less base nutrient

good luck with the grow, may your nugs be hefty

I don't know where you got that from about the Emerald Triangle products, but I've never heard that, and quite a few people use those on this forum, including myself.

i've only heard it from word of mouth,
the main complaints were about bushmaster and gravity
and a growshop owner i talked to about it said he has people call and complain
that those products fucked up their plant, he sold them, but told me not to buy'em
says he keeps them for people that want them anyway

told me to try bloombastic instead, claiming it's all 4 of those in one + bigbud,
and he doesn't sell it (atami is strict about who carries it)

i've heard a little good about purplemaxx,
but i don't like the idea that i need to lower my base nutes to use it

i'm glad to hear they do well :rasta:
maybe i'll try them one day

I think it very well may be user error thats causing problems, because these products are unlike most. You use them very sparingly, when they say 1 to 2-1/2ml, you wanna start with the 1ml or less. Many people consider themselves expert cultivators and hardly even read the directions..

I am also going to add some kind of silica containing product, based on some advice in posts that Magash made.  I am not sure what my local hydro shop carries, going to go check it out soon. I keep seeing Silica Blast mentioned whilst perusing posts from trusted cultivators so I'll probably purchase that if they have it.

Any other new, silica containing product on the scene you guys think I might try instead of Silica Blast?

Here's a couple posts from Magash that I referenced above:

I was about to purchase some guano but after reading some posts from Hawksapprentice and Magash I think I may purchase Budswell instead.

Here's a description of these products from the company:

Description
"Super Tea and Budswell are custom blended from worm castings, bat guano, seabird guano, soluble seaweed's and natural compost, then finely sifted for high solubility and odorless concentration. Super Tea 5-5-1 is a high nitrogen growth mix that features Bat Guano. Budswell 0-7-0 is the companion to Super Tea as a bloom (high phosphorus) formula. Budswell is one of the finest organic flowering fertilizers available."

Alright, both Super Tea and Budswell come in a powdered and liquid mix. Anyone have a preference?

Plenty of growers on different boards seem to often just be adding Budswell to there flowering fert regime and not purchasing the Super Tea.

Have you used either the powdered or liquid forms of either of these products? Do you prefer either the powdered or liquid mix?

Here's links to the posts i mentioned:

I've been doing some foliar feeding with the Thrive Alive B1 and the wetting/delivery agent I got a sample of.  I emailed TechnaFlora and learned that the kelp in Thrive Alive is extracted, which, according to this paper I found:
http://www.bghydro.com/mmbgh/Others/Bush%20Master%20Instructions.pdf
is actually preferrable (that is, extracted kelp, instead of cold-pressed) in foliar mixes.  The paper is actually just instructions for Bushmaster written in 2005.

I am not sure if that's just a lot of jive or not.

Also, this Thrive Alive is only recommended for use up to the first week of flowering.  I did not use it (in foliar applications) after switching to 12/12 however. ~P~

These products scare me too (particularly bushmaster).  I think Stoney said that one of those products fucked up his yield or something once.  I have also read about people messing up their yields on ICmag using these products.  I'm sure they can be helpful when used correctly (a lot of people use gravity), but they are expensive so I cant see myself ever trying them.
