I'm buying my Magnifier today and was curious how strong i need? My buddy has a 45x he can lone me or is this not strong enough? What about 65x?

Would the difference from 45-65 be enough to bother buying a 65 or would the 45 do it??

The 45 would work just fine, I use a 30x and am quite happy with it. You really only need to see whether they're changing or not, so 45 would be perfect in my opinion.

I've been wondering this too.
So 30x is pretty much minimal for checking the "cloudness" in the trichomes?
I'll have to buy one. Is there any department stores that sell these things, or is it an online only thing?
Soon, I will need one.
Also, how much Magnification does this photo have?

I picked one of these up from radio shack a little over a year ago. It isn't the best because it is kinda hard to get into focus unless your hand is really steady, but for the price it's worth it IMO.

Nice! Thats exactly what I need Amnesiac. 
That's what I'll get then. I'm pretty good at holding things steady, as longs as I have something to hold on to. And its 60-100x dang....

For the record, I got my 30x magnifier in today, and its less than spectacular. I can certainly see better...but I can't tell if they are clear or milky...I imagine I'll be able to see amber though.

Maybe you bought a crappy one??
Looking back at the thread that would be my guess. While mine isn't very expensive, a 2 dollar one may not be a good enough quality. I say spend a little extra and get another one.

Yeah, that'd be it. I hadn't really intended on buying one...I just had $5 left over on my paypal account and said "what do I kinda need..." :P
It'll serve its purpose though, so I'm not too worried about it.
