Alright, I'm getting a tattoo on my thighs and I want to know how much their honestly going to hurt. Everyone trys to act tough and say they wont, but lets be honest... what am I looking at? Whats an acurate descrpition of the pain?

for me theres n other way of describing it other than getting repeeatedly poked with a needle it stings and even burns a little but after a few minutes the spot your getting it goes numb........ive heard getting em on your legs is very painful

I have a pretty large tattoo on my rib cage, which I was told would hurt, but it really didn't.
If you go in expecting it to hurt it will, if you go in excited about this chance to experience such a neglected sensation you will find it to be quite pleasurable. But I guess I'm just a masochist.

what part of your thigh? the upper part, as in the front of your thigh, is generally not as sensitive as the inner part.
How big is the tattoo going to be? I've heard people have a certain pain tolerance for an allotted amount of time, and then after that point it starts to become pretty painful. If you're really worried about the pain, take a couple benzos before hand or something, just make sure you don't take anything containing ibuprofen or aspirin (because they're blood thinners and can attribute to more bleeding during the tattoo). You'll sign a waiver that says you aren't drunk or stoned, but my tattoo artist has said that he actually prefers customers who took a little something beforehand because they don't flinch/move as much.

Do not take any drugs or alcohol before a tattoo session beside cannabis. Most good artist can tell if your intoxicated as soon as they start. For some reason you bleed more on certain drugs and then most artist will stop and tell you to come back sober! However not all of them do this.
As far as pain goes, tattoo's can get quite painful after a couple hours. They have a lidocaine or some sort of numbing agent now for the wusses that numbs the skin topically. I had a good sized tribal dragon done on my out calf and it was not to bad until a few hours into it. But managed to sit it out and have it finished all in one sitting!
Tattoo's tho for me are addictive. Once you get that first one you generally want more. At least in my case that's the way it was. You will be fine, enjoy the experience and you will have something to show for you pain!

don't have any tattoos, but nipple piercings hurt more than anything i've felt for about half a second, and then its just a throbbing pain.
but you geta crazy high from the endorphin rush

Tattoos do not hurt that much, I have four, two really big ones on my outerforearms. I would compare the pain to maybe....falling off a skateboard while bombing a reasonably sized hill.
Feels like super bad road rash kind of. Don't worry man it'll be fine.
