algo especial
    #381720 - 03/11/10 04:30 AM (14 years, 20 days ago)

I decided to start a little grow operation so I won't have to pay for my medicine anymore.

My plan:

Veg for 2 - 3 weeks under 150W HPS, depending on growth. ScrOG. Flower under 250W HPS.

These pictures are Day 2 (March 1, 2010) of my clones under a 45w LED.

Here's a picture of the setup on Day 3 (March 2, 2010) with a new clone, King's Kush. It's noticeably bushier than the Chemdawgs and seems to be doing incredible.

On the 6th (Day 7) once the clones settled, I decided to put in my 150W HPS to switch up the pace. Accordingly, I setup my squirrel cage fan to keep the temps reasonable within the grow space.

Here's a few picture I took from my cell phone just now at Day 12 (~3:10AM March 11, 2010) with the hydroponic system completely setup and running.

Inside:

Outside:

I'll try and log my grow as much as I can, but I've been pretty swamped with work lately. Hopefully, I can find a nice digital camera in the meantime.

Comments, suggestions, questions, etc. are welcomed.

:jah:

DAY 14

The Jack Herrer clone i had in there seems to be dying. i didn't really expect much out of it since it was given to me for free from a clinic because it was too old to stock.
I decided to buy two more clones: DJ  Shorts Blueberry and Power Plant.

The blueberry is on the bottom right and the PP is in the center.. you can see the dying Jack herrer in the cup, struggling hahaha

what is that they're in? are those 6" rockwool cubes just sitting on top of perlite?

you should fill us in a little more on your methods, looks pretty interesting

sorry i was tired as shit when i wrote this up so i wasn't very thorough.

my system is ebb and flow. i'm using fox farm grow big, and i foliar feed weekly with ~1/4 dose GH and a dash of some wetting agent.

i got two airstones aerating the reservoir with an aqua pump pumping the water through the black tubing you see going through the perlite which eventually just flows through the tray subsequently dripping back into the reservoir through a drain.

yeah it's just a small closet tent. it's about 2'1/3" X 2'1/3" X 5'3". it fits snugly in the corner of my room.

So it's more of a constant flow than an ebb and flow right? from what you said it sounds to me like the water is constantly circulating through that table? If so then I'd call it more of a RDWC system.

Also, What are the actual plants sitting in?

:wtf::confused:
No, it's definitely more of an ebb&flow. underneath the perlite lies a pretty extensive network of "rivers" that ebb and flow.

Here's a link to my exact system:
botanicare ebb and flow

the plants are sitting in rockwool and perlite.

Yes but if water is constantly flowing through there, then it is, by definition, not really an ebb and flow. The idea behind ebb and flow is to submerge the roots, drain and then expose to air.

I know how it works mang
dont trip

i still concede that its more like ebb & flow though rather than any other hydroponic system, imo, since the water fills the perlite then drains in sequences, aerating the roots.

Well here's the question; do you flood it a couple times a day and let it drain completely in between, or is there water constantly flowing?

I think my question would be how long are you leaving it flooded and how often are you doing that each day?  Loooks great!  I've got one of those botanicare trays that's twice the size of yours, so its just a rectangle.  it was a great investment.  it also fits perfectly inside the box that my TV came in with enough space left over to put my shop lights in it.  Anyway, good luck meatcakeman!

Good to see that the squirrel cage fan is doing you well man.  On top of cooling your hut I'm sure that it's giving you a solid rate of air exchange.  Good luck on the rest of your grow.
