Timers, Need To Find One
    #337311 - 12/27/09 10:44 PM (14 years, 3 months ago)

Need to run two, 1000 watt lights and a 130 watt in line fan.
Total of 2130 watts.
Only need it to last for 2 or 3 grows. So it need to be cheap.

Looked around a good bit. What do u guys think of this one.

I like the way this place give info. I don't know heads from tales on elect.

Think its safe to get the extra 130 watts out of it?

Any other suggestions.

Specifications:

    * UL Listed
    * Each timer has 2 outlets which allows for a combination of lights and/or accessories
    * 15 amps max load
    * It is recommended not to exceed 12A

    * 96 - 15 minute increments
    * Push segments down for on time
    * Push red switch down to turn on; up to turn off
    * Dimensions: 78 mm high x 66 mm deep x 90 mm wide

pulling a little more watts might be okay or not depending how quality the components are but a statement like that in the specs makes me wonder if its any good at all? you definatlly don't want to go over 15amp draw not sure what the lights load is.

That timer could safely run 1 1000 watt light and your fan.  Be sure you know what's all on the circuit your using, and if it's a 15amp circuit don't run 2 1000 watt lights on the same circuit on the same schedule or you may wake up to a burnt down house depending on the quality of your wiring.  You should never exceed 80% of a given rating when it comes to electrical meaning that timer is 15amps, but you don't want to use  more than 80% of that constantly.
