Sometimes the shells get in the way. You can take it off, it wont hurt it any.

Be gentle when you do. Have done many. Easy to break a leaf. Broke one but it did recover.
Had them do the same thing. What $'s we pay for good seed. Need every one to germinate.

I use a tweezers and pull it off gently. Happens all the time. Just be careful and it will unfold in hours after removal.
