sorry. to answer your question, i need you to be more specific.

what do you have going on? you have some clones ready to flower, and some not ready to flower?

edit:

ok, so i imagine youre saying you have some plants ready to flower, and some plants still vegging? in that case, do NOT throw them out!!! get another light to continue the vegging. then once the flowering plants are ready to harvest, you should be putting your vegging clones in the other room to flower.

vegetating 12 plants. not sure if they are male or female. so i take clones of them and start flowering the clones. now i know what the original plants are and can rip out the males.

what do i do with the clones?

do you have them rooted in rock wool or something like that?

after i take clones i put mine in a clear tub under daylight fluorescents

get them to root, and then plant them an veg them normally. probably take up to 2 weeks to fully root enough to plant.

No, what hes doing is force flowering before they have shown sex to be able to identify the sex of each plant quicker.

You can toss em or let them flower out completely and get the wee bit of weed you will from them.  It's up to you.

ahhh thats right. a friend of mine was telling me thats what he does.

this guy said to take 2 clones from each plant and label where they came from, but what im not understanding is do you just straight throw them under 12/12 or let them root first at 24 or 18/6 then drop to 12/12??

You put them under 12/12 immediately, and they should be showing sex by 2 weeks or so.

As long as your plants are large enough to take them, age is a variable when it comes to it.  Some plants bigger at different ages than others.

hmmm good question...i think they will but is it more efficient to root them under 18 or 24 then put them down to 12/12 once rooted.

As far as I am aware, yes they will.  What were talking about is purely to identify the sex of your plants.  Of course it will be more" efficient" to let them root under 24 hour and grow them out a bit if your wanting to get a crop from them.  But that's not what were talking about.

no i meant even just to form roots in the quickest time possible...is it better to have them under 18-24 till they root then drop to 12/12

If all your wanting out of them is the sex, then you want to do 12/12, you should see the sex in 2 weeks.

Rooting a clone under 24 hours will get you roots in 2 weeks, but then if you switch over to 12/12 will take another 2 weeks to see the sex.  So no, it is not more efficient.

what about if I just flower the initial plants instead of the clones and then go back to vegetating? or is that too much for them?

I wouldn't, that's a lot of stress.  You could get hermies.

I heard that I don't even need to clone them. I could just look at the pre flower after 30 days in vegetating.  what's this about?
