today is my first day not using. it has been really hard but givin me the motivation to succeed. heres a little about me:
i am addicted to a wide variety of drugs.. mostly downers
i use 100+ mgs of oxy (or the equivalent depending on what i can find) daily.
i take up to 7 mgs of xanax daily
and bowl after bowl
this is just the daily things evry day.
my problems have gotten bad, i am a 21 y/o male, i am allso very intellegent, but this drug use as put my life into a rapid decline, every thing is falling apart and i am losing everything.
growery i need some support, some ideas, anything to help me get rid of the NEED to use drugs

thanks for the support guys, and athough i do belive weed to be a non threatening substance i am giving it up..along with nicotine.
because i want to be able to make it through a whole day w/o altering my state of mind. im just being precautions because if i can let weed slip thru then i might find my self waking up in a sweat at 3 am loading a rig telling my self its just 20 milligrams. and i dont want to be this guy any more.
although i will keep this in mind b/c i do agree that trying to give up everything at once will result in a break down and there fore a fail so if i do continue to use canna bis how often should i use. i obviously cant blaze a bowl every 90 mins all day long every day. what about if i did somethingn like i only smokeed with ini 2 hours of bedtime, and never did it socially? sound ook

You'll need the weed...Then later on once everything else is behind you then you can choose if you want to stop smoking pot...Pot won't control your life...In my opinion its the least harmless of sort of "addiction"

Even if you want to quit the weed I say you still smoke it. Just smoke less each day until you quit, that way you'll know you're headed on the right path towards ending your addiction. I once heard a cigarette smoker say they forced themselves to smoke cigarettes to help end their addiction. Trust me stick with the weed and just lower your usage until you quit, then you'll know you have strong willpower.

gateway- its up to you if you want to keep the weed burning or not. It sounds like you need a big lifestyle change, and that might include getting rid of anything that makes you not sober.
Don't be afraid to ask for professional help. You don't want to fuck this up, and withdrawing from that much opiates will be hard.

yeah man I'm coming up on month six of nothing at all...its do-able.....not trying to recommend more substances but perhaps detoxing your self for a day or two then eating some mushrooms...sounds nuts but it might help you out

so here is my first day entirly w/o drugs.(took a few downers early yesterday b4 deciding to stop), i took the day off work today i figured i would need it.
\\any ways i have been having a hard time finding something interesting to do all of my daily habits involve drug use lol. but im working on it im reading the new james rollins book.
but i do grow, just not weed, i grow the magnificent papaver soniferum, and mushys, but i intend to grow a few bag seeds sometime in the near future.

Yeah, pot could actually help you with this. Don't smoke A LOT but def here and there to mellow you out and take your mind off things. Fuck everything else, you don't need that shit. Pot is here to help you though, as are we my friend.

You gotta take this one step at a time. I promise you that if you try to get rid of everything at once, your body is going to punish the fuck out of you and you WILL fail.
Not trying to be negative but you gotta get off the opiates first, then the benzos, but always smoke weed... You WILL need it.
It sounds like a great idea everytime but then you wake up the next morning feeling terrible and the first thing you want is more opiates...

this is very true man, to be honest the first thing i thought about upon rising was opiates, today has been hard and i feel very sick i only ate about 5 spoon fulls of some mac n cheese i cooked before i hurled it and gave up on eating, been very angry to , i yelled at my boss b/c he wouldnt let me come get my paycheck if i took the day off witch is just totall bull shit, but anyways i got a lil over 6g's of some dank i might puff down .5 or so after dark so i can get my grub on and chrash out but idk yet.

that's the best time to blaze. Wake N Bake to get rid of the stomach issues (I know you know what i'm talking about) and then 2 hours before bed so you can eat and crash out. I'd probably smoke .5 in the AM and .5 before bed. You will probably need some benzo's to make the entire process easier. But don't take much, just enough so that you can BARE the withdrawals. If you need any more advice just  me and i've got a lot of helpful advice to get through that shitty ass few days. It gets better quickly though.

Well suboxone is different. If I was taking oxycodone daily it would be one thing, but i'm on such a low does of sub that I don't necessarily need it, but it makes me forget heroin even exists. If you don't agree with it fuck off, because the medical community doesn't consider it an opiate.

Like I said, I told him to take benzo's, not opiates.
If I had benzos to get through the W/D's I would have, but I didn't and I don't feel like sitting in the hospital for 3-5 days with no insurance.
It's so funny how uneducated the growery is on the subject of opiates.

Thanks man, I just wish people would realize that the Heroin is an addiction in it's own, separate of the opiate addiction. Half of my days were spent acquiring and doing heroin, so a complete lifestyle change was necessary. Taking suboxone allows me to have a "normal" life again, while keeping my mind off of heroin and it's terrible lifestyle.
I consider not smoking Heroin every day to be a success. Yeah I have a partial opioid helping me out but I would still be doing heroin if I didn't go on suboxone... I'd recommend it to anyone with a heavy opiate/heroin addiction. I'm just sour on this subject i'm sorry.

Well yeah, there's usually two aspects of an addiction. There's the actual drug dependence then there's the habituation of the act of taking the substance.

But like you said, getting a hobby helped just as much as the Sub!
I started a grow, which was a great decision.
Today is 30 days off of Heroin... Yeah not ALL opiates but I consider that a victory for me. I'll be off of the sub within another 30 days, but I won't get off of them til' im fully ready or I could relapse. I'll do anything NOT to relapse, and if I need a tiny dose of buprenorphine to take cravings away I will. Most H addicts stay on Suboxone for years, no way I'll do that. I can't afford it!

The problem is, from the time I would wake up, til' about 8-12 hours later, I would be driving, meeting mexicans, doing tar, meeting them again, doing more, then going to bed. It's like the drug was my whole life.
Now that i'm staying home every day and just smoking weed and taking suboxone I feel like a different person, and act like a different one too.
I've had more trouble "filtering" what I say, and that has caused me to get a lot of shit around this forum. Seriously how can people hate me when I haven't even met any of them? Makes me really sad.

Don't get me wrong, I don't HATE anyone here.
I'm just saying those are the only 2 people who have really gotten on my nerves before. Trip did hardcore but we were good friends before and patched it up quickly.
I just don't like basketball basically, and Banez loves it, and we argued over sports... lol so I don't hate him. He just gets shit on a lot. Like I do recently.
Jewitagain is okay... but he contradicts himself all the time. "I fucking HATE cali and its fucking social bullshit scene!"
1 month later - "I'm so glad I am back home, fuck that place, cali is the SHIIIIT!!!"
I might not have quoted exactly but seriously that's how it went... Once again, no HATE, just don't agree with him very often, but sometimes we do.

a lil up date guys,ib been haveing crazy opiate cravings,athough im feeling great(beside minor muscle cramping and a lack of appitite), although last night was horrible i harldy slept and sweat alot. but its all worth it, im diggin the clean life man, had a job interview today for a job that was way outta my league and landed it I START MONDAY. fuck yeah. day 3 and im finally feeling like my life is going some where. ~ thanks growery

oh shit its for a foreman im three years short of the managment exp needed, there was hadly any jobs i could find so i said fck it and gave it a shot. lol was well worth it i appied almost 7 weeks ago tho

Congratulations to all you guys workin to be quitters. It takes some dedication but it will be worth it for all of you. I have my own problems, and honestly, lately i have felt that weed is taking a little too much of my time. I know its just weed, but it is affecting my life negatively right now. Its time to cut back.
I can only imagine how hard it is to kick H or something like that though, and hope that you fellas stick it out. My first wife is in prison for meth, I would hate to see one of you guys OD or end up in the can for that shit.

Actually, she got popped for manufacture and possesion of 600g. The she got caught on tape trying to pay an informant to kill the witness that was gonna testify against her. After all the charges she ended up having to do 13 years. She wont be eligible for parole until 2014.

You are instantly not clean. I'd say you are about 1 or 2 days clean maximum cuz is was still in your system until yesterday or the day before if you metabolize fast.
