Totally subjective smoke reviews ?
    #323026 - 11/29/09 04:09 PM (14 years, 3 months ago)

Hey , first post and all , been around on many of the other boards but figured since this is a sister site of shroomery it would be good to be part of .
Anyhow enough of that , I have been looking at a ton of smoke reviews of various strains and just about settle on one and then I find a bunch of contradictory reviews , wtf ? It makes it impossible to make a specific selection with confidence. Seeds aren't cheap nor is growing them out , then when smoked the desired traits aren't there . This sucks .

For this next round I am looking for zero couch lock and something that is really up and brings on the giggles big time . I have a list and am checking it twice , no consistent consensus , any suggestions ?

No joke, this is exactly 100% what your looking for. You will get what you want with this strain.

He doesn't want an indica if he's looking for an uplifting high

Magash, do you know any of the genetics behind that strain? I like what I see...I'm going to go do some research

Wow... That looks like it could be a really fun endeavor for the connoisseur with an indoor setup.  If I could just throw 2 of those bitches in with my heavy Indica's it would make one hell of a head stash.  Not a bad price either.

How is Tiki Seeds?  Pretty reliable and stable?  Do you know anything about the quality of the breeder/s?

I don't know these guys myself but all I hear is good. I met them at the cup but didn't get into any kind of a conversation with them. I have grown this out myself and liked it a lot. Similar to Power Plant.

Hey guys thanks for working with me here . It would be nice to have a reference list somewhere where a person could look up the various strains and see what kinds of consistent effects to expect .
With the zillion different plants available to choose from it's getting harder then picking a beer . At least with booze generally the results are usually the same just the taste is different .

A smoke report thread has been suggested, but we're not quite big enough yet.
Additionally, the effects an individual will have are based on set and setting as well as phenotype of a specific strain, growth factors, seed content, tolerance, and dozens of other factors.
I do think it would be handy as a guideline, but you're going to see the same thing that was complained about in the OP which is contradiction from report to report based on individual experience.

Agreed , but doesn't an Indica strain give couch lock , where Sativa tends to be the opposite , more energetic ?

I have noticed some commonality from reports when it comes to traits from certain strains , like couch lock , or great for sleeping. So even though there is some discrepancy there is also some really good reports that are consistent as well . Now if I could just find some with the traits I am after I would be good to go .

Here are a few that have come up , supposedly no couch lock and very energetic ;

Jack Herer (I have my doubts with this one, OD is more like it :>))
Blue Heaven
Grapefruit
Bubblegum
Blue cheese

Plus any Haze I was told , but that doesn't seem right either since they are Indica dominant , correct ?

Yes, but Sativas are generally twice as big a plant than Indicas are while producing the same size yield.
Sativa can be very flimsy, sometimes weak stick figures that can fall down!

Incorrect. Haze plants are sativas.

I know , but they can still be managed sorta . If the end results produce what I am looking for then , I think it's worth it .

I see there are more and more sativa crosses with ruderalis , lowrider style . This current direction may be worth playing with since it does solve the leggy/height sativa problem .
