I'm not gonna use it, it seems pointless. Someone gave you a rating deal with it. Its not like the world is coming to an end. Even the Nom Nom Nom ones on the shroomery are funny.

Not exactly! There is a very good reason to offer a response, for the same reason eBay sellers are allowed to respond to negative feedback. Sometimes, the information presented is not true, subjective or certain details are left out, and being able to respond can paint a clearer picture. In the case of general ratings, it's really not very important, but for trade ratings it can add clarity and ease of reference to disputes.
