Second Grow. Stinky. *Complete*
    #239586 - 06/14/09 12:55 PM (14 years, 9 months ago)

Hey. This is my second grow. After my last one I decided to just do one plant at a time. That way I'll just focus and try get the best yield instead of saying ah between them there'll be plenty.

Stinky's about a month and a half in. I only found this website there when I went back to have a look at the shroomery.

I'm using about 3 parts all purpose compost, 1 part sand, and one part perlite for the medium. Started with a small 3'' pot. Now I've transplanted into a 10 litre. Not using any lights as I think it's getting plenty beside the window from the sun. Might set up a few energy saver bulbs soon enough and put her into the shower with some white plastic sheeting if I can find some.

I've only started foliar feeding yesterday. Using seaweed extract and a  concentrated plant food solution. Although it's hard to get proper online info on how often to foliar feed. And how to avoid clogging the stomata.

Also is using carbonated water when foliar feeding really a good idea? I mean I imagine it's quite harsh on the surface of the leaves.

Hey, just came to a problem. Any suggestions about where to upload photos? I wouldn't exactly like to put them up on a social networking site if you get me. Will stick a few up when I figure out where to put em.

I'm kinda wanting to have some results by my birthday in September. Think might continue veg for another month and half then flower from beginning of August. Think she'd be mature enough by then to expect any sort of decent yield?

Went with the carbonated water/seaweed extract/plant food mix. Hasn't seemed to hurt the plant. Went one week feeding, the next just spraying once every so often to allow any of the residue to be absorbed. The sun's shifted so that it's not getting a lot of direct sunlight during the day in my room any more. Thinking of turning my wardrobe into a grow box for the next two months. Should be fine seeing as I won't be here anyway. Might just start flowering next week. I'm kind of impatient and want some weed for my birthday and the start of the college year.

Stuck her out in the garden for a few days in a sunny spot and have noticed a lot of new growth at the nodes. I'm going back home for a month on Monday. So think I'll stick her out in a field while I'm gone. Not sure whether I should transplant her there or just stick the pot out there. Any ideas or tips? I'd prob bring her back in to flower inside. To better control the feeding, light, watering etc...

Looking good! I'd stick her out in a field and tie her over so she doesn't hit 13ft tall by when you come back. Are you going to have someone water it for you or are you in a climate where you can rely on rain? If you want to bring her back inside to flower, you probably shouldn't put it into the ground as getting it out of the ground will cause it a good deal of stress.

Nah. I can depend on rain falling alright. It's Ireland. Will give her a good feeding and watering before I go. And I doubt she'd get that high. I mean it's only a 10 l pot. Even if that happend I wouldn't worry too much so long as noone came across it. Wouldn't mind a tree to brighten up my room when I get back.

Heading off tomorrow, so sticking her out soon. Saw a horse in the field I was thinking of this evening so have to think something else up. This'll be the last update for a month. Hopefully the next one show's a tree. Wish Stinky luck!

Looks nice! Let us know how she is when you get back.

Also, we used to use 5 gallon buckets, then we could move them all over if needed.

I don't get you? You'd use the 5 gal buckets as plant pots? That's about 20 l. Not a bad idea. 10 l seemed enough for what was planned as an indoor grow though. Wanted to keep her getting too tall. I'm planning on heading out soon, She'd fit in a bin liner now I'd say. Will go for a stroll when the coast's clear. Wish I didn't live in an estate.

Yes 5 gallon buckets for pots. We wanted the plants big but yet movable if animals or people started snooping around.

There was one horse in the field. But only real choice. Hope I'm lucky and it stays the fuck away. I've read animals don't like the taste or smell of it anyway. She's in Mescalito's hands now.

Piss around it. Wonder would that work? Pretty sure the horse isn't meant to be in the field. There's one side that's got no fence or wire or anything, think it's just a stray. Maybe a knacker horse. No chance of deer around here.

Hey, what do you think? Should I leave it out there till there's about 12 hours daylight and let it flower according to the sun? Can't afford proper HPS setup yet, would be using CFL's inside.

im not a grower myself, have been looking into it. but some of the methods on here seem pretty smart. i live in the states and i never see stray horses.

but i think it will do fine if its outside, if you dont got any materials for indoor, mise well let it flower out there

I would use the sun as much as possible,IMO. I would be a little careful if the field has a horse tho, matter of fact i wouldn't put it there period.

I make Ireland sound so quaint. Stray horses aren't exactly common, except in this backwards part of the country. It's a city, and seeing horses and carts going along a dual carriageway is pretty much a given if your going into the city centre. Travellers love horses for some reason.

I've been looking on Ebay at HPS lights. Saw a bulb and balast for around 25 euro excluding P&P, so I'd say it'd be 40 altogether. Could afford this alright. There were two around the same price. One was 400 W and the other was 100 W. Ideally I'd want 250 I think Cause I only do small grows in my wardrobe. Couldn't find 250 though.

Do you think 100 W would provide enough light for one or two plants. About 4500 lumen with a predominantly red spectrum.

Would prob make some sort of reflector. It's not too hard.
