So I finally got my garden started yesterday

After two full 7 hour days of tilling up soil, pulling weeds, and trimming back bushes I finally have a garden in my backyard now.
I used some 2"x10" boards to contain a nice raised 5'x8' patch of soil. I got about 3 cubic feet of miracle grow organic potting soil and another 3 cuft of Sphagnum to condition the soil a little.

I'm so excited now, I've got 3 jalapeno plants, 4 tomatoes, 2 broccoli plants, cantaloupe seeds sprouting, and some zuccinni on the way.
august is going to be TASTY

I would, but the only camera I have is on my phone.

Which coincidentally got dropped on a sidewalk a couple days ago, and now I have 4 small cellphones.

i think u shuld be alright....just a cheap chicken wire fence and u're good. keep an eye out for tomatoe worms on ur tomatoes. they're the fuckin devil.

Definitely not too late in the season where I live. I've got plants that were started in a greenhouse so they've already got a jump. Plus, where I am we're probably not even past the first frost...

too windy here. Avocados are my favorite veggie by far, but their root systems grow wide rather than down, and last couple times I've seen people here try to grow them they just get ripped out of the group by the first huge gust of wind.

Maybe I'll get an enormous pot and grow an avocado tree as a houseplant...

I help manage some apartments and we just got approved for 400 bucks to do gardens with. flowers mostly but ima make sure some berrrys n stuff get in there :awebig:
