It's called employment at will and pretty much every single state has it.
If it comes down to it, look into selling plasma. Sounds pretty shitty but you can make enough money to at least put some food in the fridge. Don't know how it is in your area but the clinics up here just check for disease and hard (IE IV) drug use. A few of my friends who smoke have sold plasma with no problem.

i know of a place in texas that you can sell your semen too. if they accept you, you can make up to 900$ monthly (thats with two 'donations' a week). its pretty hard to get accepted though. they didnt accept me:(

man, about 2 years ago i donated plasma twice a week for over a year. i told myself i will never do that again. the worse thing that will come of this is me losing my computer which you all wont be able to hear from me. yall!
