 Trichome color variance- When to Harvest?

When checking the trichomes for ripeness, do I check the top of the bud (newest growth) or the middle of the bud?
I ask because the tops of my buds are showing mostly clear/some cloudy trichomes, but the older growth and leaves are showing half amber/half cloudy.
I clipped a sample bud two weeks ago when all the trichomes were still clear. The potency was good then, can't wait to smoke the finished buds!

There are other ways to judge too...do you have a macro setting on your camera where you could take a closeup of the budsites?

u can always pick the mature buds and let the younger ones grow up. i do that sometimes but i have had strains that seemd to just stall when i did this so really its up to you. fuck i dont even make since right now

No macro setting, very old camera. The hairs are mostly white, I know that when they change color, harvest is near. I think I'll harvest when most of the trichomes are cloudy and the rest amber on several budsites.

I have always found that when you first start nociting the amber trichomes its a good time to harvest.
