Just wanted any input that anyone with experience could give. Not sure if the yellowing leaves need to be pruned off, or if they can stay put.

It looks like it is doing great!  You need to transplant it ASAP.  The soil stays together better during transplant if it is dried.  Also many do not like to use Miracle Grow soil because it has miracle grow fertilizer already in it, and there are better soils/fertilizers out there.  Leave the yellowing leaves, wait for them to die or get mostly yellow top clip IMO.

Do you have any ideas of what could be causing them to yellow?

Wow that first one is a robust little seedling.

As for the yellowing... my guess would be magnesium deficiency. You can tell by the blotchy pattern of yellowing rather than an all around pale green or yellow which usually is the tip-off for nitrogen deficiency.

Give it a pinch of epsom salt around the base of the plant and give her a few days. Even if that wasn't your original problem it should give your plants a huge boost and make the leaves even greener.

Here's another look at magnesium deficiency:

The seed is suppose to be a Lowryder seed, so hopefully it will continue to keep it's small and bushy stature.

Planning to run to the store this afternoon. Will pick up a new pot, some better soil, and some Epsom salt.

Well, the plant has been moved into a new pot, using Expert Gardner Organic Potting Soil and a pinch of Epsom salt was added.

The yellowing/browning leaves were crispy to the touch, so they were clipped. It seems that a few of the other leaves are having the same problem...

------------------------------------------------------------

I just saw this, maybe it will help:

1. Are you growing from seed or clones?
Seed

2. How old are your plants?
2 weeks give or take

3. How tall are your plants?
Almost 8 inches

4. What size containers are they planted in?
8 inches around, 8 inches deep (container doesn't give a volume measurement)

5. What is your soil mix?
Expert Gardner Organic Potting Soil

6. How often do you water and what type of water do you use?
When the soil is dry to the touch, and use regular tap water.

7. What is the pH of your water?
No meter...

8. What kind of fertilizer do you use and what is its NPK ratio?
Expert Gardner Organic Houseplant Food (3 types of nitrogen in it), a few drops into the water every third day.

9. Do you foliar feed or spray your plants with anything?
No.

10. What kind of lights do you use and how many watts combined?
Posted above.

11. How close are your lights to the plants?
One is about 4-6 inches away.

12. What size is your grow space in square feet?
4x4

13. What is the temperature and humidity in your grow space?
75 degrees

14. What is the pH of the soil?
No meter.

15. Have you noticed any insect activity in your grow space?
No.

16. How much experience do you have growing?
Noob.

These new pics look a bit like nute burn. Try to feed about once per week. I have never used that fert so I can't really comment on its effectiveness, but marijuana is unlike many other plants so you may be better off getting a more targeted fertilizer like the GH Floranova or Fox Farm.

I think it may be a fertilizing problem.  IMO fertilizer should not be given at all until 2 weeks in.  The seedlings are small and there is alot nitrogen and nutrients in the soil.  Perhaps stop giving fertilizer and give only water and see if it clears up.  How old were they when you started fert.?

Also, I see that you water when the soil is dry to the touch.  When you water your plant, lift the pot after it's watered and feel the weight.  Let it dry out completely and compare the weight again.  The top layer of soil can dry out fairly quickly, however the rest of the pot will be heavy and still very saturated with water.  How frequently do you water?

Well, a small update:

The plant looks a little better. Those few leaves still have splotchy spots, but the new leaves look perfect. Also, the plant has jumped another inch or so in height. Plus, there are tons of small new leaves growing from the bottom where those first two dead leaves were clipped.

Thanks for the advice you guys. Another picture update will come in a day or two.

There isn't an exact water schedule, but the soil is checked each night before bed and if it felt dry it got some water. On average probably once every 1 1/2 days.

This time its going to dry out for a couple days before it gets more water.

Sounds good.  The weight comparison for watering works well.  Also one more suggestion, you're going to need a fan if you don't already have one:thumbup:

Yes! Behold the majesty of magnesium sulfate (a.k.a. Epsom salt)! That stuff is the shit. Enjoy your new plentiful, green growth. :awesome:

Well, it has been a few days and it is time for new pictures...

In this picture, on the left you can see one of the older leaves pictured in a post above...It's looking a little worse for the wear. Other than the two leaves that are pictured above, the rest of the leaves look great.

The plant is getting water every third day, and for the time being, no more fertilizer. It's putting off a much more noticeable smell, but smells amazing. Sometime around the middle of April is the plan to start flowering.

Nice, everything is looking great now!  I see in a picture there that you have a fan.  If it isn't already, you should position it so that your plants move with the breeze.  The more they move, the stronger they will get (and quicker too).  They will really beef up, and your stems will thicken.  They will be much more stout, and it's also good for supposed nutrient/water uptake...larger stem = more nutrients/water.  Aside from that your doing well, especially for 2 CFL's.
