Growth season has officially begun. Both of them have already added about 1/2inch-3/4inch. They should really do well out here in this Arizona sun

this will be the first full season of growth since rooting :thumbup:

I got bigger plans for mine. I plan on letting them get about 14-15 inches, then pupping them both

I agree but id rather take some cuttings and be able have a couple extra cacti for future use than cut up my 2 and not have anything left

if i get jonsing for mescal I can always hit up wally world or home depot and look around. you can usually find them fairly easily with a little hunting

You sure that second one is Pedro? I dont think it is. its a look alike. I had the same thing before. You can tell by the skinnt rips.

is it what you see is what you get or should I be on the look out for san pedro imposters at home depot?

if that doesnt make sense what I'm asking is If I saw the same looking cactus from your pic in home depot is it for sure (really good odds) san pedro. if so I might have to spend a lil cash.

100% sure its a pedro. it was a pup off of a mother that I carved up.

ez- yeah pedro's are pretty easy to spot. and they are usually labeled with their scientific name: T. Pachanoi

just dont give up if they dont have any the first couple times you go. its not always a sure thing, especially depending on your location. being in Arizona they are fairly common here, not soo much other places

let me know if you have trouble hunting them down. Whatever you do, dont buy from BBB (bouncing bear botanicals)

San Pedro contains a number of alkaloids, including the well-studied chemical mescaline (0.21 - 1.8%), and also 3,4-dimethoxyphenethylamine, 4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenethylamine, 3-hydroxy-4,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine, 4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine, anhalonidine, anhalinine, hordenine, tyramine, and 3-methoxytyramine.

Between 10-40 16" allowing for loss in extraction.

here are 2 updated pictures. since last time they have both grown a little bit. and the bigger one has started to throw off a 2nd base pup. looks like a penis with 1 tiny testicle.

Cactus 1= just a shave under 1 foot
Cactus 2= 9 inches
