The purpose of the main site is not only to house a wealth of information on the usage and cultivation of marijuana, but also to ensure that this information is easily accessible and understandable to everyone. There are going to be definite standards for the organization and quality of submitted content, and while the Growery is not a formal encyclopedia like Wikipedia, it is still important that the content be presented in a way that allows everyone to make good use of our data; which will in turn speak for the quality and reputation of the Growery as a leader in the online marijuana community.
Towards this end, all users are able to edit content to ensure that it is presentable, accurate and subjected to peer-review. However, this ability will be restricted in certain circumstances. Since the presentation of our content is crucial to ensuring efficient accessibility, the titles, captions, and locations of folders will typically be locked and regulated by moderators. Fear not however! As changes to the basic structure and layout of our data will be managed through open discussion in this forum, and we will make an effort to be receptive to all suggestions.
Users may request that their documents be locked from public editing in this forum. The ultimate decision will be up to the Growery mod's and admin's, and will be seen as warranted if the content is an original work or a classic that meets our standards of presentation and accuracy of information. There is also a feature available within our content management system allowing a contributing member to be notified of any changes to their submitted content. We encourage you to make use of this as a means of preventing vandalism and unwanted changes to your documents. If differences in opinion occur over a specific document, a decision will be made in this forum (either by a vote or ultimately by the Growery's mod's and admin's).
Section Folders & Documents must be titled clearly, and their captions must be concise! This standard will be strictly upheld in efforts to maintain information in an efficiently organized and thereby accessible manner. While there isn't a strict standard for individual documents, we do expect contributors to adhere to basic spelling and grammar rules. Documents must be substantive and contributors should make an effort to ensure that the information they are presenting is not redundant. Documents should be easy to read, informative, and present the Growery as a practical and fun resource of information pertaining to all aspects of the cannabis plant.
We intend for a great deal of the decision-making process pertaining to what meets (or fails to meet) our quality standards to take place in this forum, and hope that our members will be willing to participate in this process! Please use this thread to discuss your ideas about how we may more effectively modify and/or uphold high quality standards.
