Geokills's attempts to join in the community

Has anyone else noticed how only recently has Geokills posted or participate in our humble community? Is this do to the fact that the place is falling apart and he is trying to save it? Or perhaps he has realized he is out of touch with the issues and the people?

That's no secret HAF, I have never tried to convince anyone that I was "in touch" with the community here.  There has been practically zero involvement by this site's administrators over the past several months.  I realize and have repeatedly admitted (in a couple of posts as well as several private messages) that the disengagement of the administration since this site began has been one of the major reasons that I made a few errors in my initial approach to the Smoke Lounge over the past week.  But like it or not, I'm here to stay.  You can work with me or against me, the choice is yours; just know that I won't be paying you much mind if you choose the later.

I thought my thread was appropriate where it was. I wanted to get input from the fellow members. It's not a matter that needs to be resolved. its just an opinion.

I think since your arrival the place has gone to shit. We loved the idea of the freedom we had. No one was out of control like the OTD. We were a place of out own. FEW limitation, not many, or none. We were growing on our own.

I understand that, which is why I left a forwarding-placeholder in the original forum.  Members may still offer their input if they are so inclined.  This thread is however centered around website feedback, and I don't want to see it get lost in an off-topic forum.  With that, I welcome any and all constructive criticisms, and am honestly only looking to set this place up to take over the worl--err, the online cannabis community within the next five years!

It is unfortunate that you (and I'm sure several others) do not vibe with the changes I've been making around here.  But like I said, you have the choice to work with me or against me.  Given the changes currently implemented, nothing has been taken away from you for you can still post all of the same things you did before, so long as you do it in the appropriate forum.

People tend not to welcome change, and I know I've been extremely resistant to it at certain times throughout my past.  But the only constant in this universe IS change, so you'd better get used to it.  As a wise person once wrote, "If you're not riding the wave of change, you'll find yourself beneath it!"

What changes were recently made?  just the appointment of a couple of mods from what i can see.  i don't know why everyone gets their collars rruffledd on here.  it's the internet.  ya know?  I wish i was knowledgeable enough to add something to the main site.  I got a lot of resources but not enough ingenuity.  Ehh, something for us to work on instead of spending our time reading random shit in the smoke lounge.

My guess is that its the first point that is causing most of the ruffled collars, which is why point two was implemented.

    We (Sirius, Yrat & myself) are currently hashing out the details of a new Main Site Content Coordination forum, including potential updates to Ythan's Content Management System which will allow for improved organization and functionality.  It looks like we're building a little momentum here and I hope it will continue to snowball into a better Growery!  If anyone has any ideas or would like to brainstorm on what we can do to improve the site, please don't hesitate to create discussions in this forum.

    i really don't know where all the hostility towards geo is coming from.
    he is trying to change the site for the better, which it most certainly NEEDS!
    he admits that he has not been as "hands on" with the community as he probably should have been (which everyone bitched about) now he is trying to fix that and people complain still...

    i admit i am one who does not visit the growery often and it is the quality of the posting that makes me stay away.
    the site needs more traffic and it will only get the increased traffic if it is seen to be a friendly community with good quality posts/posters, not the shroomery outcasts zone which it has become.

    things are going to change around here wether you like it or not, so embrace the change don't fight it.

    i'll be showing more presence around here from now on too.

    Any way, geo overall I think your increased level of activity has/is helping improve the site.  I think the current level of dissent will fade, and within a month or two most people will have forgotten your mistakes and things will be well again. 

    I not sure exactly how the "former mod who's name is now blaspheme" thing finally played out.  But I am glad that it worked out for the better.

    I wish you much success in growing this site, and hopefully it will make it out of the terrible 2s soon.

    No. Enforcement of the rules by making one of the most hated and for good reasons, posters on a power trip against other mods was what ruffled collars and everyone who didn't have prejudices and were in touch with the TSL community knows that. Everything would have been much more Kosher had admins been more in touch to begin with and made any number of much better choices and decisions. That was the fire ball that set things in flames and you are the one who let it loose. Yes there are some idiots here but please don't alienate and discount the few who stuck around through it it all by pretending that didn't happen when it's pretty common knowledge among them all. The things you did to make up for it are working but at a price that didn't need to be paid in the first place. I'm not trying to be a thorn in your ass or detract in any way from your efforts on fixing the mess but please don't insult the ones who are dealing with it by pretending that didn't happen. The TSL is a social part of the board not a content one. It has to be handled in a social way.

    I know where the hostility comes from and I have pointed it out like an Irish Setter for the few who doesn't as well as for Geo's benefit. I'm not attacking. I'm supporting and some times that takes tough love and truth speaking. Too many are lost and confused here.     And you are probably right. I buried my dad yesterday under circumstances that made rage outweigh the sense of loss and probably shouldn't even be posting at all but I promise to speak no lies and I'm about done. Also I seriously only still have good intentions and am speaking for and too some who don't read every post and are still bitching and leaving over what you say you have covered already. I'll be done in a min and you are welcome to delete it all if you think it's best. I won't fight it or repost it anywhere. I suggest letting the healing take place though and this will all be over soon regardless.

    I know you mean well and are doing a great job now. A lot of good and well liked people don't understand still and I'm only working on that gap.

    Some of these people have to have it drilled into their skulls first and only then will fall in and help out here.
