I did the exact same thing. Comes in handy too. Wife, kids, and friends can hook to it like a flash drive and copy all the shit they want off of me easier.
Last crash was a genuine and literal crash too. 20+ pound cat was asleep on top of a stereo system that was on top of an 8 foot bookshelf. Fucker rolled off in his sleep grabbing the stereo on his way down. The stereo landed on my laptop so hard that it broke the 2 inch thick wooden table it was sitting on in half.

That cat is very lucky to be alive. If I hadn't already invested 7 years with him he wouldn't be. I'm sure he lost one or two of his nine lives there. At least he looked like he did. lol Poor cat. It did scare the shit out of his fat ass.  I let it go at that.
Still get a little pissed off when i think about it though.
