anyone have these? the ones cellphone providers have where you use the pcmcia slot or a usb and you basically get interwebs wherever a phone would get service.
im thinking about getting one. and they look pretty nice.

I was given one when I worked for a company doing their shit. Sometimes I would be hunting etc...And they would need me to access their computers. I had no way...So, I told them if they would be so kind as to hook me up with one I'd gladly setup a VPN so that I could access it from anywhere. They obliged, and now...I have one. I'm pretty sure it still works too. I'll try it in a minute. I'll trade you for it. 
I think they give you one anyway, and they have them for usb now so you probably don't want this ancient piece of equipment.

I've got a USB 3G wireless one that works where cell phones just laugh at you with their no bars. It's $60.00 a month though.

yeah i def want a usb one
my computer doesnt even have a slot for those old ones lol
but it always worked good? coverage pretty much anywhere? worth the 50-80$ a month im sure it will cost me

I love mine. Worth every penny considering there is no other high speed available at my house except satellite. Works great. Never had a problem. Good speed everywhere I've tried it and have yet to run into a place it doesn't work. Beats the shit out of my Nextel phone coverage by far as well as my old Alltel phone and this is an Alltel device.

Mine worked great. Anywhere that I have cell coverage it worked fine. Obviously better signal = better speeds, but overall it was great to have for what I used it for.
I wouldn't use it as a primary service...I play games, and it definitely wouldn't do that very well...But like I said, if you are away needing to browse the growery, hell download some tunes, basically anything it will do it just fine.

Gaming is a good point. I'm not a gamer but I understand it's not the way to go if you are. Works great for a lot of games but for many it doesn't. Streaming movies, youtube, etc... works smoothly most of the time though to get an idea of what it's good for and not.
