Damn. I read about this family who uses their home to grow a lot of food. Like 6,000 pounds a year a lot. On 1/10th of an acre. So I was really intrigued, and found their website. You guys gotta check this out. Almost completely off the grid, they make most of their own stuff and sell it. Oh and did I mention that it's like 2 miles from my house?
In these difficult economic times, it's good to know that with some knowledge, patience, and a little skill, you can grow your own food (and lots of it!)

That's cool, I was going to WWOOF for a Canadian farm similar to that
If that interests you, you should check out this site, you can do that kind of work in any country and inside of paying you, they teach you and you live on their farm and they feed you and shit

i really like how this urban homestead focuses on using your property for food. i dig it because it's like what people used to do in the old days. remember when there were settlers and they had to grow their own food? we've got it SOOO easy with super markets now. it blows my mind that it's so basic a thing, that we don't even think to do it now in our modern society, rather have a lawn!
