So I'm reading around, and I learn that cannabis connoisseurs, when sampling a new strain for review, prefer to light their bowls with flameless implements (talking about magnifying glasses, soldering irons, etc) so they can get the flavor profile without the butane from a lighter.
Anyone here have a flameless method or know of a tool made for this purpose?

Dont listen to coaster he's a spoiled faggot not all of us have mommy and daddy to give us $600 for a volcano. Theres nothing ghetto about using a soldering iron or glass rod they work realy well. they do make soldering irons with ceramic heating elements... you pop off the metal and bam, instant phedor and just as safe. i would never use a regular soldering iron.

QFT, its the same thing as a phedor, just not ridiculously overpriced. you guys don't give peter enough credit.
advice for others: just make sure it has a ceramic heating element, buy one of the ones i posted above so you don't have to worry about it. also the ones i posted above are easy to take the metal off. the hakko dash is supposedly the best/easiest and closest to phedor. some people buy the wireless one made by hakko but you have to be extremely careful cutting the metal off and can ruin it if not careful.
or if you want, you could be ignorant and buy a phedor (because 'soldering irons are ghetto') that is the same goddamn thing as a ceramic soldering iron and pay 200 more dollars. your choice. i know what i'd pick. the ceramic element is the exact same as those used by ceramic soldering irons, no different.
the hakko dash is also smaller and most prefer it to the phedor. you do have to get a holder(or make one with a coat hanger) for it however. you can buy a nice one so you don't burn your place down

Using a ceramic element is great if your looking for efficiency but as far as it tasting so much better than a regular lighter I dont notice much difference.
