I loved pogs. I remember we had to stop playing cause of the gambling thing. It was because everyone wanted to play for "keeps" and kids would get upset. So would parents who were shelling out all the money. I was a big fan of the slammers that we called "keenies" I loved playing for keenie keeps, it got to the point where I had way more keenies than actual pogs.
Now that I look back at it, the whole gambling thing was pretty fucking stupid. Why couldn't kids play pogs? Because some would lose, they need to be sheltered from that possibility. Grown ups ruin everything fun.

haha, I had completely forgotten about pogs.
i had the pog maker, a holographic wizard slammer that I saved up for months to finally buy.
i remember once in school, some kid made a pog out of a picture of a tittie he probably got from playboy or something and I thought it wasn't the funniest shit in the world. i nearly pissed myself when I saw it.
didn't take a whole lot to make me laugh in 3rd grade.

i remember there was this little kid maybe 4 years younger then me and would always do what i did. one day i decided to convince him to get into pogs so he did and got his parent to buy him all this shit, little rich kid, and invited him over with a few other friends. we then took all his shit. i think we might have even bent the rules to our liking.
"oh, you used 4 fingers instead of 3. thats 5 pogs for everyone."
i feel bad about it now, but hey we were kids.

i had like 40-50 of those cylinder coke can things that would hold them all. I also had the binder with pog holders. I was all out. I had the Alf one too. Sold it on ebay for $22.00. Go figure..
