Looks like the whole top of the cola died. Could be a borer, check the stem for damage.

Yes, but the way it took out the whole top of the cola like that on a plant that doesn’t seem all that dense, idk. Oftentimes there is a stressor that allows the infection to gain a foothold.
Have you been getting a lot of rain, high humidity, or getting the buds wet when you water?
