UngratefulDead's Summer '24 grow
    #866773 -

I was able to acquire some feminized seeds from a friendly breeder over on the shroomery- it has been probably 15 years since I last attempted a grow  (a small indoor closet grow-tent auto-flower grow). Prior, I had experience from years of attmpting to grow outdoors, on public land, in the old days of highschool.

I recently moved into my first house of my own, so I got the itch to get back into the hobby. Now that I don't really smoke anymore, I won't be tempted to harvest early, skimp on the curing process, etc- and can really focus on growing quality flower.

Anyways my buddy sent me about 25 femenized seeds, of 4 various strains of his own creation, these are the strains, with his personal description of each:
  • White Afghani; "My friends told me this is the most potent weed they ever tried whithin last 20 years. This is a cross of old school White Widow with Afghani and Pakistani landraces. Buds are dense. High is mostly cerebral, with warm feeling in the body and strong..."
  • Golden Kush; "This is a kush based on pakistani landrace and afghani landrace from 80s. It's not that potent as the others, but this is one of my favorite for sure, I created this strain for this purpose, it's ideall for talk, for work, for making some things, for a walk. Just enjoyable high which keeps you uplifted and not stoned, with pure, as it possible, head. Super strain to communicate with people, to be social. Good to take alone as well.
    Very pleasant medicine cozy high..."

  • Oldschool Prague Skunk; "One of the strongest in my collection, very pungent and smells like in pharmacy with hint of sweety skunk and kushy undertone. Oldschool cheese from Prague in genetics with selected Pakistani and Afghani plants. Buds are dense. Completely blast off to me, making eyes very red and the body high is also very pleasant. Headspace is comfortable and warm. Very cozy smoke. Potent...
  • Tropical Pine; That's a strain made of Mexican, Colombian, Afghani and Pakistani high mountain plants. Due to sativa content might drop some bananas, but it was noticed at the end of the flowering mostly and not on every plant, just few. So just saying it's possible, because it's made of sativa. They bloom quite fast though. Kush genetics kinda balanced it and it. Have a strong cerebral high. Made me speechless. It was strong and unsocial. Smell is fruity and a bit like chemical with pine tones...

I had about a 95% success rate with the germination, lost 1 or 2 which didn't want to pop a taproot. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any FoxFarms products in time before they had to go into some sort of medium. Had to settle for some less than ideal potting mix, with a small amount of fertilizer- ph looks good. Giving them natural outdoor summer sunlight (about 16 - 17 hours per day) until rootballs have been established. Have not decided if I'm going to finish them all the way outdoors in Ocean Forest soil, or acquire the pieces for a DWC hydro setup indoors. I do have a perfect space for this grow room, extra storage room in the basement would make a perfect growing space, though I would have to modify it some with mylar panels and aquire lighting, etc.

Will see what makes sense when the time comes.

Here they are-
