Anyone here use Avid for other then mites? I understand it is usually for mite control. I am just curious if it will keep caterpillars at bay too? My understanding is this product works on a tissue level and stays in the plant for about 45 days.

I wouldn't use it unless absolutely necessary.  A BT product like captain jacks deadbug brew would be safer.

Interesting thanks for the response. My uncle use BT last year I think but his complaint was having to remove the dead caterpillars daily or every other day. I guess I'm trying to find something that would deter the pest completely to avoid that. Thanks again I'll give that stuff a look.

That might work to deter pests, but I've seen the active ingredient used in ant bait as well, so I kind of doubt it.

My main concern is with using systemic pesticides on a plant meant for consumption, you can't always trust the label on these things when they say it will be gone in x days.  Better to be safe than sorry when it comes to one's health.
