Brown/soft/upturning leaves
    #860998 - 10/07/23 11:01 AM (6 months, 18 days ago)

Hello weed people.

Anybody know what's going on here with my Purple Octane??

Nute burn? Overwatering? Other deficiency?

This is my second grow. Have been trying to figure it out on my own but am not necessarily confident in my ability to determine the issue. Any input would be welcomed!

Good point yeah lemme just chop these down and start from seed in the ground! I kid, I kid.

I'd love to grow outside in the ground but I live on the Oregon Coast. Really wet and windy in the fall. Fertile soil but idk if they could handle rainy season shift. Granted I haven't tried yet. Am thinking about throwing a plant out there next year just to see what'll happen. Would I need to cover maturing flowers from heavy rains to avoid bud rot or can they handle it?

But yeah for now I'm in pots just praying I make it to harvest!

Mine got rained on like crazy and it never molded

However I did have to tie it up like CRAZY. I'd say look up a strain that is known to grow in those conditions. And sure, that's the beauty of it, you can make it however you want outside. I've always wanted to build a greenhouse myself

Those that can help you will more info.  Like what are you growing in soil or coco? What's your ph, how often and how much do you feed/water, etc...

If were to guess I'd think nute burn/lock out.

But those are only guesses. Have you tryed to flush.

Growing in soil. Homemade mix. 5 gal fabric pots.

40% Peat moss
30% Potting soil
10% Succulent soil
10% perlite
10% Earthworm castings

Or something like that. I grow lots of cacti so I just threw together some stuff I already had. Might try a bagged soil next season. Any recommendations?

I've top dressed 3ish times with earthworm castings and bokashi.

My ph has generally been around 6, occasionally higher.

Full-sun outdoor, and I bring em' in my garage at night.

I water usually every 3-4 days using rainwater, perhaps sooner if it's been hot. 2-4L of water, depending on whether the first 2L produces runoff. I fertilize every other watering (so every 7 or 8 days) with these:

As directed and as appropriate for the stage in the growing cycle, at half strength.

I did flush them the day I posted the photos.

Also I have another plant of this same strain. Both are in the same soil mix and growing conditions, fert schedule etc. But the other one seems perfectly fine. So I was perplexed that it wasn't happening to both of them.
