It is far too late for that, I tossed everything.  Those seeds were not worth saving, and the bud was pretty bad as well.  This was years ago.

Yah sure sure but if it were to happen again yknow- that's my plan anyway if the misfortune were to occur! I never want to waste time picking through seeds for stuff to smoke again! Missing just one will give me an awful headache

Yes, that is Ethos.  :drooling:

From what I read ethos is decent genetics. But even so with good ass genetics the seeds are still a roll of the dice of the parents genetics right? It will still be same odds as bagseed right? Maybe slightly better.

Ethos does things a little differently, some of their strains are breed by using only females, as opposed to other reputable breeders like Bodhi who never works with feminized seed.  Different strokes for different folks.

All genetics are a dice roll, but different genetics are like different die, kind of like mario party.  You can roll normal dice, and you have a 1/6 chance of getting a keeper, but if you roll the 456 die, that chance goes up to 1/3.  Roll the bowser die, and you might find something good, or you may end up being sent back a few spaces.

Now days there are so many different characters with different dice blocks, there is no one size fits all rule for finding keepers.  That said, you'll have a much easier time finding killer phenos if you start with solid genetics (or dice blocks :blazed:).

Yeah but some of the best strains have been from random bagseed :wonka:

All I'm saying is, if you want to find something special growing dispensary bagseed, you should be prepared to run a LOT of beans.

Depending on your standards, you may be satisfied with whatever you grow.  But personally, I'm sick of mediocre weed so I put a lot of effort into sourcing quality genetics.

Right, but, despite what the dispensaries would have us believe, THC content does not dictate quality! :mindblown: I could point you towards some quality landrace strains from some of the best breeders I know of, if you are interested in trying some :awesome:

Unfortunately some of them are highly sought after, so you have to know what you want before they drop and you have to be logged in and ready to buy when they drop.  But a drop is coming up, so let me know!

Man genetics is no joke!!! I'm surprised you've never shopped for fem beans before man!!

IDK bout dice roll from breeders! Every fem bean I've bought from a breeder usually ends up finishing very very dang close to what the strain description says. Like Bubblegum from Nirvana seeds that shit is for real dude it really really smells like bubblegum !
Ethos is legit they're very cool. I haven't successfully ran any of their plants from start to finish yet, but I have gotten one of their plants from a friend who started from clone and it was very good stuff and true to the strain description.

It's going to vary depending on the breeder and strain.  For example, an F1 hybrid would display a variety of expressions.  An F2 would have even more variability.  F3-F6 and beyond you begin to see much more uniformity, which can be a good or a bad thing depending on what you're after.

If you're pheno hunting for your absolute favorite smoke, you're going to want a lot of variability in terpene and cannabinoid profiles, so an F1 or F2 hybrid would be a good choice.

If you're trying to produce a uniform crop of consistent phenotypes, then you'd want a more inbred line such as an F5.

Guys. The labs that supply the dispos have the best genetics. If they are by some miracle NOT hermie seeds and some spec of pollen got transferred via worker wouldn't that be some of the best genetics? :wonka:

Edit: my state ONLY has top shelf so when I say dispo bagseed I don't mean any of YOUR guys dispo bagseed.

I've honestly never been into a dispo but ive tried imported dispo stuff and im just not into it.
IDK wtf those monkeys are doing, im not giving them money for it ahaha. Stickin with homegrown and traded homegrown. At least that way you can directly tell the grower "hey this is good but dont do this part next time" Besides i dont need a cashier, delivery driver, store managers, people doing inventory, more taxes i dont want to pay.
I just want good flower. And i want to deal with as few people in the middle as possible

Best is subjective.  Many people try to avoid the super hyped up strains that dispensaries often grow.  There are a few that grow more exotic stuff, but they are few and far between.

That stuff looks pretty good though, around here that would sell for $18 a gram :crankey:
