Same shit, different day.
Been trying to fix up a house in the northern part of the state and ran into a mold issue.
Other than that my life has been the same, slow.
I like slow.

I admit PG13 and jump-scares are my early litmus test to say fuck it.....pg13 horror tends to be weak and jump scares too, combine them (like the kid movie you mentioned) and fuck, i miss the 80s. Was never big on slasher movies but the atmoshpere in things like alien, near dark, or the thing feel like something modern films have a hell of a time even coming close to

Hansel and Gretel is coming out. I think that is the name. Meh. Could be a teen flick, but who knows.
You are right about Alien. Although, I do think Promethius and Alien Covenant held up to the horror and space standard. I love those movies.
It's hard to find a movie that invokes terror without using too many jump scares and excessive gore. Focusing more on the terror of the idea.
I liked the Descent. It hard claustrophobic feeling. I saw it stoned and loved the hell out of it.
