hi,
I finally found a dispensary/provider that grows and sells Granddaddy Purple in my area!
So I will be picking up an ounce tomorrow.
Has anyone here ever tried this strain?
I've heard nothing but great things about it in the reviews I've read and seen on YouTube.
I'm someone who really likes indica strains so I am thinking that I will really enjoy GDP.
it has an average THC level of 23% and goes as high as 30+%.
The nugs are very dense, thick, hard, and have purple coloration throughout, not to mention a nice dusting of trichomes.
If anyone has any experience with Granddaddy purple and would like to share, I would love to hear about it.

u can tell by the crystallized nugs if its good and they let u smell it. the one i used to get was floral and calming to pain and insomnia but unfortunately caused pretty deep paranoia.

some others turn purple in the late stages in a cold climate
it doesn't really mean anything

I have it too. I've found that high CBD strains are best if I'm going to be consuming a lot. CBD actually has antipsychotic properties, so my goal is to grow enough so that I can take 1 gram of CBD a day.

I have severe schizophrenia but I still smoke weed occasionally.
I have noticed that sometimes it aggravates the symptoms of my schizophrenia.
In other words I might get extremely paranoid, get delusional thoughts, and not trust the people that I normally would trust with my whole heart.
It sucks, but I've also noticed that it depends on a few different factors, such as the strain that I'm smoking, where and when I'm smoking, my frame of mind during the experience, and who I'm smoking/not smoking with.
Sometimes I have the most incredible and benign experiences smoking weed, and other times I will have overly negative experiences.
I have yet to figure out which strains are suitable for me, and which ones are incompatible with me.
It's an ongoing process learning about myself and the different effects weed can have on me, and this is from after 20+ years of experience smoking.

Interesting. thanks for actually elaborating. Do you guys mess around with any other substances?
I only ask because I get those kind of feelings/emotions/thoughts just about every day but I wouldn't necessarily call it schizophrenia. But I guess I can't understand the full scope of the episode or feelings each one of you experiences.

doctors really have a bias towards anything so they'll come up with these buzzwords and try to label people
if you had schizophrenia you would know
but it isn't really a big deal
the pharma industry is actually the ones who are doing the brain damage not the average user
but ptsd and schizo are similar so to that degree there are some changes in the structural changes of your brain
but yeah fuck docs, fuck cops
unless you're smoking meth or something you really have nothing to worry about
just take lots of breaks from it
maybe don't even use it if you have the option
it benefeits me because I really have no social net or anything
so hearing voices isn't exactly the end of the world
I just don't want people to think i have alzheimers and put me on their miracle drugs
which will inevitably kill you

have you tried smoking mids? I would expect the higher potency dank herb to effect your brain more than some mids...

Personally I don't like mids, if I'm going to be smoking cannabis I only want to be smoking the b best, highest quality herb.
For me, I just need to find the right couple of strains that work well with my specific chemistry and then I will be all set.
Sham, have you noticed that certain strains tend to treat you better than others?

yes of course. Personally I'm an indica head so most strains I acquire don't really differ from the classic indica feel with the exception of a few strains/kushes. Bubba, Master, LA Confidential give me the heaviest feeling with a extreme rush of hunger. Other indicas just burn me out.
I really want to get into sativas to experiment with her different effects

I like granddaddy purple.
But next time I won't buy it because the only person I know who grows and sells it charges too much money for it.
it was $35/8th all the way down the line, for a total of $280 an ounce.
Prior to buying this, I had never paid more than $200 for an ounce.
I wish I could grow my own herb, if there is anyone on this forum who could help me get started would you please PM me?
And are lights absolutely necessary to grow indoors? Why can't I just put the plant on a windowsill that get's plenty of sunlight?
I heard that you could do this with plenty of autoflowers....
