Will you judge my plant? ( update: help me figure out a bug issue please)
    #827736 - 07/30/17 02:39 PM (6 years, 7 months ago)

1.seed

2.~8 weeks

3.12in maybe a little more

4.5 gallon bucket with lots of holes drilled in bottom.

5.some generic organic walmart soil. NOT miracle grow! I can post picture of the bag if needed.

6.I water when the bucket starts to feel light. Usually every 2-5 days. I water a full gallon when I do. I use well water.

7.I don't know the pH but I can get my hands on a pH meter if needed.

8.miracle grow bloom booster 15-30-15. Used at 1/4 strength. (I know miracle grow is garbage and its all I could afford at the moment)
For the last two weeks I've been adding general hydroponics micro 5-0-1 to the 1/4 strength miracle grow.

9.nothing

10.the sun. 6-7 hours direct light and rest of the day they get filtered light through the trees.

11.about 93 million miles away

12.outside. Pretty much my whole back yard.

13.75-85 daytime 60-70 night time

14.not sure but I can get a pH meter if that will measure soil pH.

15.again not sure

16.nothing that looks dangerous. No aphids or spider mites. I do have a leaf or two that have some holes in them. Looks like something been munching on them but I never see the culprit doing it.

I'm just kinda curious on how you guys think she looks? And what I could do better? I'm planning on stopping the miracle grow as soon as I get a little extra money. Anything I can do on the cheap to grow a healthier plant?

This plant I'm growing came from a bag of some primo bud. A buddy told me its going to end up a female because the plant it came from put out male flowers and pollinated itself. Producing feminized seeds. Is there any truth to that? I'd hate to put in all this effort for a male.

Any help/advice/constructive criticism would be very helpful. Thank you.

Looks healthy. If its from a hermaphroditic plant it will either be female or a hermaphrodite.

I suspect it's still vegging.  Daylight hours will need to get to around 12 or so to trigger it into flower.  You will need to watch for the pre-flowers to sex your plant.  Right now, it likes a little nitrogen in its feed.  Once it starts flowering find something with little to no nitrogen.

I've been tying branches down to try to keep it short and bushy. And of course to increase yields.
Once she starts to flower should I stop with the training? Which I'm guessing will be around September 1st.

How concerned about these leaves being eaten by bugs should I be?  And if need be what course of action should I take to remedy the situation?

I would be concerned about any loss of foliage.  Try a neem oil solution or look for a suitable Safer's product from a nursery or garden store.  Having critters chew on it only stresses your plant.  See if you can figure out exactly what is doing the chewing, the you'll be able to pick the proper agent for attacking it.

Neem oil did jack shit at ridding spidermites for my indoor grows. I got some I'll it try anyway.  Can't hurt right?
This morning I did see a little green grasshopper\cricket looking thing on the underside of a leaf but he got away before I could get a picture.

I'd go with this grasshopper as the culprit then.  Again, ask at a nursery or greenhouse to see what you need as sometimes a systemic poison is called for instead of a surface treatment.  You want to be sure that whatever you use will be done its business and gone by the time you are around to harvest day.  They don't need to know what you're growing.

Is there any chance you can get this plant the light it needs but behind some insect screening?  That first line of defense would keep the larger critters at bay for sure.  Besides the current leaf damage I'd be worrying about something eating on my bud or somehow ruining it further down the road.  I'm paranoid that way.

I'm sure I could attach some type of poles to the sides of the bucket and then put screen around it and the top.
