question about light

So I went and bought a 1000 watt hps last night with a switchable ballast for $100. My little grow room is 4'w by 6'L and 6' high. Once I get the walls covered in something reflective would that be enough light for the room or should I keep the light a foot and a half above the plants. Only have one lady growing atm but I've got for clones that will go in there once this one's done flowing.

1000 watt light should cover 5 x 5 area. You're going to have to figure out a way to exhaust the heat, 1000 watt light in that small of room is going to get hot fast.

Yea I've already installed an exhaust fan since it was getting hot. I thought that light would be big enough but wanted to make sure ty.
