Anyone use them primarily just for vegging? I picked up a 8 bulb Apollo because I can't use a HID upstairs anymore. At least in spring/summer because it gets too damn hot. I hope this will cut my temperature dowb at least 50 percent. And I was venting the air outside but still wasn't good enough.

Get them real close and have fans on the plants and they work great in veg.

i see theres a 100w led called mothers little helper on the market guys are filling a 4x4 foot print with ,
hardly any heat .

I use a t5 and I'll never upgrade no need for it imo
6"-1' away from the plants ime will do fine I run it about 1' w optimal space 6" in cramped spaces sometimes
Even if I set up a 100 plant grow I'd veg w t5s and flower how I do in my sig...
Indica doms, would benefit from hid in veg to speed up their growth to get em ready to flower.
But w sativa doms and my program u would want the opposite almost. Hid might cause em to get too big too quick in veg believe it or not
This is all reletive to my program of course

I got my t5's a few days ago. Gonna pop some barney farms blue cheese,liberty haze, and
pineapple chunk in the greenhouse in a few days.
