Same. Cool idea but I'm curious if its economically viable on a large scale. I like self propelled electricity a lot too.

I Christmas treed the second half of science on my act. I would have gotten a really good damn score if it wasnt for the science questions. Brutal.

The bike is driving a generator, so human-powered electricity would be a better way to describe it. "Self-propelled electricity" implies that the electricity drives itself, which is impossible.
The flywheel is nothing more than a temporary storage area for kinetic energy (a mechanical capacitor) that smooths out the rotational speed of the assembly under an inconsistent prime mover (the person's pedaling), which improves generator performance and efficiency.
Either way, unless you can do an cost benefit analysis that factors in the energy, money, and waste generated in mining the raw meterial ores, refining, casting/machining, etc. and prove that each machine will operate long enough to completely offset the total cost, then it will be nothing more than a novelty.
More power to the guy though, he is truly an inspiration for all of us...he is trying his best to solve some big problems with the world.
