I heard the margin of the leaves can cause intestinal discomfort if not completely macerated before consumption, best to juice them and strain the pulp out. Those leaves are sharper than they look.

Even if it is trim, why would you waste it by eating it raw? That's the dumbest shit I've ever heard. I remember kids doing that in middle school. Ain't that hard to toss it in some damn butter and simmer it for awhile.

I don't really see how it would be a waste if you are juicing the large fan leaves. I would juice the leaves and add it to a smoothie. I wouldn't waste good buds doing this though.
