The girlfriend and I really want a great dane. We are well educated on the health problems and short life spans, but still really love them.
Was wondering if anyone at the growery has any experience with great danes and any tips for owning great danes.

Funny you mentioned a great dane. The worlds biggest dog 'Zeus' died sometime last week from 'old age' at the ripe age of 5.

Not sure if a great dane will be comfortable in a tiny little shack of an apartment... Maybe get a rat? They have the same life span of a dane and can be quite entertaining.

Counter-intuitively, larger dogs are better suited to smaller more confined dwellings than smaller ones.
Larger dogs need less exercise and stimulation than smaller ones.
