Something to use for thicker stalks/stems?
    #745539 - 08/28/14 10:44 PM (9 years, 6 months ago)

What would you guys suggest to thicken my stems up and make the plants more hardy? I got a few sativa mothers given to me that we scrogged and the stalks just seem alot thinner than my plants normally look. I have a fan on them but wondering what supplements I could use to thicken them up. Root complex seemed to work for me before but I cant find it at my hydro shop

Strains are : royal highness, deathstar, train wreck, purple wreck,  sage n sour, blue widow, underdawg og. The royal highness and purple wreck are the 2 growing tall as hell and skinnier stalks. And im starting to think that having them scrogged  is causing the stems to not thicken much since the plant is being supported maybe? This is my first time ever scrogging.

Cool thanks. Thats about the only thing I could think of. I read about the dyna gro and some other ones but wasnt sure if It was the right way to go. I also kept hearing about the potassium silicate building up cell walls or something which could promote faster growth? I just never know whats fact or fiction when it comes to new stuff. Ive always used the same stuff every year and cant get access to the usual stuff I use. Last year I just used guanos along with some stuff from the hesi line and loved it. Ill grab some silica tomorrow thanks. Any expierence with photosynthesis plus? I got a buddy that keeps raving about it and his microbes.lol

Ive never had problems with my stalks being skinny before so I thinks its because I got these mothers from a friend and they were already tall and lanky. He didnt fim them the right way I think. And figured being scrogged was also keeping the stalks thinner since the plant isnt supporting its full weight maybe. Other than that theyre thriving and looking ultra dank:laugh: ill throw up some pics later

I'm pretty sure that was a mother he had running for awhile before that went into flowering.

Nah, it was a old plant that had been flowered and reverted several times to see if it could be done and how many times. After the 4th or 5th time it just totally hermied.

Strain was a Serious Seeds AK47

Seriously? I thought water with chlorine was bad? Ive always let my water sit out a day or two so the chlorine evaporates a little.

So far im taking my cuts and using clonex gel on them, then sticking them into rockwool cubes. Then I put them in a propagtor tray with holes in that tray, then put another tray underneath with a soaker hoseand perlite. That way it makes alot of humidity in the clone dome. And I bought a big ass rack woth adjustable shelfs on it. So I can hang the lights on the top of each shelf and have the clones trays right below the lights, and the clones can grow threw the shelf kinda like a scrog.Kinda hard to explain but I think I have a pic from a few weeks ago I can upload real quick

Heres a pic of 2 of my mothers when I first got them from my buddy a few weeks ago. Thats one of the shelfs on the rack im talking about. I took my mothers out of there though and now have all of my clones on those racks.its perfect for clones
