I am trying to find out how much Sucanat sugar to use per gallon of water. I an using a DWC grow box. Has anyone used Sucanat and how did it work? Thanks and Aloha
Sugar does nothing for plants. Molasses (which is left in Sucanat) provides a source of nutrients and the little bit of carbohydrates help boost microorganism growth, so you can use it as an additive if you want.
I used to use molasses when I first started growing and could never tell a difference in the final product, but it didn't seem to hurt anything. The amount to add can be searched for pretty easily on this site.
