putting down roots
    #722719 - 03/22/14 05:43 PM (10 years, 8 days ago)

As some of the older members know, I have been gone for awhile from the Growery. To make a long story short, I had some family problems coupled with financial problems due to the downward spiral our economy suffered a while back.

Most of my time away was spent picking up the pieces of life and concentrating on finding employment. Work was slow and hard to find on the island,  so I was asked if I would like to move to Texas. Since work was easier to find and the cost of living is considerably less, I decided to move my wife and child over here to give it a shot.

Well here we are now in the city. I have secured employment but am a long way from friends and family. So I'm curious, how many of you if any live in Texas? And if you do please fill me in on what to do and where to go......

Sorry to hear of your troubles man. Congrats on the new job, I'm sure it feels good to have money coming in.

I'm no where near texas. I think Poor Boy is from there though.

Did somebody say poor boy?

Been through this myself recently. It's a BITCH catching up on bills when you're out of work for awhile. I'm getting divorced too. Currently on a cot in the back room at my in laws (which is a good thing - love my in laws and they love me).

Yeah, didn't think Life was going to go down this way. Part of why I'm growing again. Makes me feel centered in the midst of the chaos.

Good luck brother. I hear Austin is more mellow than the rest of that mini-country.

There's only enough room here for one of us so you best keep moving! Unless you let me bang your wife...

Thanks for the replies guys!

So I have kept kid from corpus and istoner from Houston.
And poor boy, fat chance of banging my wife! But may continue moving on once I can get caught up.

Are u in s.a. poorboy? I didn't see if you put down your location.

Austin looked pretty big, went there once to check it out. But kaptkid, I heard corpus was a dirty place? Haven't been there, just heard from people around here. Houston tho, the company I work for I know have a lot of their big wigs stationed up there.

I went to Corpus and S.A. once. Driving thru S.A. looked like the dirtiest place I have ever seen for garbage lying around.

You don't want to live in corpus. Its okay to visit, but not to live. As far as SA being dirty, part of this is true, but I highly doubt you drove through the entire city. From the tip of the north side down to the tip of the south side can take an hour. We are a HUGE tourist spot and have shit here that takes whole states to accomplish.

Here's a few...

Six flags
Sea world
A Zoo
NBA
MLB (sometimes)
Hockey (CHL)
Large Water parks
Museums
That faggot alamo
All sorts of dif music venues; large venues
Historic bullshit
A few universities
A bunch of malls
A few 18 hole golf courses
Putt putt
Go karts

I know I'm leaving shit out, but that's just one city. If you're a fag then austin is a 45 minute drive so you can go to ACL.
