 every time i make cannabutter

I swear I get high from just cooking it. I have it in the crockpot bubbling away, so my house has that nice leafy dank smell. I only smoked one bowl today, a few hours ago, and I swear I feel my eyes getting stoney. I'm not cooking it so hot as to vape it...the butter always still comes out strong, wtf is up?

Could it be that the lighter terpenes are evaporating (not boiling, unless you aren't using water or a double boiler in there to keep the temp at 212 deg. F) and having a synergistic effect with that bowl you smoked earlier?
Another theory is pavlovish in nature. Perhaps the awesome dank smell of your soon-to-be cannabutter, your own knowledge of the cannabutter and the joys that it brings with it, and the little bit of THC already in your system are all combining to produce a stoney, content feeling in your brain. This response would be the actual response your brain would expect if given all of the signals you are presenting it with, so its almost setting you up for it even if the actives aren't there in the levels they should be (in your body I mean).
By the way, I made all of this up...I have no information to back this up with 
It could also be that if your butter is bubbling and churning, you might be getting small butter aerosols kicked up into the air...but I feel like the amount of actives made available that way is negligible unless you are above the vape temp of the actives.

Yea keep it at 212 F for 90 min in at least a double broiler to strip the carboxyl chain of the THC ...Make sure to stir often though. Good Luck 
- I cook mine for 72 hours without going too high and my patients enjoy it this way better.
- TIP*** Add alcohol to increase extraction yields and do the extraction by hands with cheese cloth, it will burn your hands but the butter is better this way.
- There are aromatic Cannabinoids that have been found to be psychoactive.

I just pour some water in and separate later- keeps things from burning I only ever bubble it for like 8 hours and it works great for me. Any longer and it starts to get bitter in my experience.

Have you ever added 150 proof + alcohol? This also preserves taste to butter IME

I finished a 3 week batch of vegetable glycerine last night... sampled a bit yesterday but today im really gonna get to sample
apparently if u hold it under your tongue it hits u in 15 mins and lasts 3 hrs (so its more like a smoke high then edibles).
Ill up load some pics of my projects right away

thats was a alcohol tincture no? (i read they burn)
this is glycerine.... it tastes just like honey. no alcohol at all

Mine was definitely glycerin, but I'd take a tsp at a time of it so thats probably the difference. It wasn't a painful burn, but a weird heat.
IDK about that shit. It worked SO good the first few times I did it, and I built some crazy tolerance to it really fast.

Im totally going to try making canna butter in my crockpot next time.
i've always just used my stove top.
Do you guys know how much ganja/butter i should use if i just want to make 2 single rice crispiness?

Well, I generally use 14g of my best trim to 1 stick of butter. That makes 12 cookies, which almost always need to be broken in half. I mean, don't need to be, but I'm talking "oh god, I need to leave walmart now" high from half of one.
Yesterday I used only an eighth of trim, but I threw in probably almost an 8th of some really fire buds/shake/keif mixture as well. If my calculations are right, I should still get 12 cookies, they'll just be half strength and I won't have to break them. If not, fuck it, lesson learned.

Once you cook your cannabis with coconut oil, you will never use butter again 
I live in the middle of nowhere too, but my local Wal-Mart sells it

its usually pretty pricey around here.... but every 2 months safeway does a sale on it. and they are like 1/2 price..... thats when i stock up 
Not sure about walmart. but any larger grocery store should have it
