the sound board is sound board... not insulation foam. and its not to bad in price.. deffently for how much sound reduction you get out of it.. i honestly did not expect it to cut out as much sound as is did. fans are on full blast and cant hear them its great.
you cant use the foam sheets cause you wont be able to make it into a sold box to hold the fan..
and also the memory foam will help insaulate the box for you and its prity cheap.. all i needed was on twin size matress topper for both boxes
