Most likely not. You would need a supplemental heat source if your ambient temp is 30F.

I agree.

A 150w hps doesn't get that hot as oppose to say a 400w.

and it gonna be extra cold when the light turns off...



put a walmart oil heater with Adjustable Thermostat.... they are pretty safe.

I can't answer that exact question, but I can tell you that a 400w MH in a 50 degree attic only adds about 20 degrees to the space below the light. So probably not. Although you could probably use autoflower seeds or find genetics that aren't so negatively effected by the cold. Maybe.

I've been considering getting a seedling type heat pad myself. I think they make heat pads specifically for plants in cooler indoor conditions.

They sell warming cables. Heard they work okay for soil.
