Just wondering if a shorter/younger plant - let's say a month old from seed as opposed to two or three months old with alternating nodes - forced into early flowering would reach harvest time quicker than a 'full-size' plant?

No. Flowering time is strain specific , and flowering begins when you turn the lights to 12/12. There is a range of time towards the end of your flowering period where you can harvest earlier or later, and this is generally a two, maybe three week period. Keep in mind, the longer the plant is allowed the flower (up until the trichs are almost all amber) the heavier and denser your product will be.

I've always found the more mature a plant is, the quicker transition goes. Tho this only speeds things up by days. Still tends to finish a bit earlier.
