New grow room! it's been a while

Well I am making a comeback into the grow scene. Used to have a 10x8 room that i did soil about 10 years ago and have stopped for a long time and am getting back into er! I have a 27x9ft 1380cf room. I will be converting 7ft into a veg room, and using the other 20ft for a flowering. New to hydro and have always done soil and basically either let them roam free, or trained them a bit. Having said that I am going to try for a sog or scrog method using a coco mix and either a drip or flood system. I will probably defoliate a bit and I want to keep them fairly short as my grow space is a bit higher then 6ft in a basement. I plan to use a 400cfm fan which should be enough to recirculate every 5min or less. Three 1000 Watts for the flowering room and 1-2 400MH for veg. I plan to get air cooled lights but am not quite sure if 400cfm will be enough power to duct this length of the room. I am not sure if a flood or drip would be better either, and whether i should do a table of pots or something else. Any feedback would be great.

Also the basement sits at about 17 degrees in the summer, so im guessing it will drop to about 10 in the winter, so I will probably need the heat from the lights to keep them warm im guessing

Well as far as hydro goes, that's mostly a personal preference. Go with what you feel most comfortable with.
Do you have any specific questions?

Well I plan to do a DIY hydro set up. Not sure if doing buckets or a different method would be easier/cheaper to setup. Also my 2 strains are fast finishers, (45-50) days so wondering what method I should use. Another thing I am curious about is Dual arc bulbs and if they are worth trying?

Just go with regular HID. HPS for flowering, and MH for veg.
What do you mean what method you should use?
And by buckets, do you mean DWC? If so it's a great form of hydro.
Your ventilation should be a bit more than what you are planning. The rule of thumb is that you should be exchanging the volume of air 2-3 times a minute.

Well I am really open to any suggestions. I am thinking of trying three 5x5 grow tables with 1 pot per square foot with a coco mix and a drip system with some (LST)/(FIM) techniques, but like I said I am open to anything. I didn't get the best results with soil. Always had very nice looking buds but the yield never came to my expectations. I also used organic ferts as well which could be the culprit. I am trying something new and would take any criticism or expertise i can take.

The DIY co2's suck ass
Its better to go with a high amount of fresh air exchange.
You should look into DWC.
Also skip the FIM shit. Just top and LST.

Hmm ya i've been researching dwc a bit too. I am really in a toss up between ebb n flow and dwc. Ebb seems like less work, and maybe better for my strains which are quick finishers 45-50 flowering days and probably cheaper to DIY.

Well ebb and flow isn't anywhere near as easy as DWC. You have to adjust frequency and duration throughout the grow. DWC is set and forget.
And style of system will have no effect on flower duration, vice versa.

My flood and drain system was much easier than the DWC pots I tried in the beginning...
