veg with t5s or 250mh
    #680731 -

i have a 2x4 stacked double chamber tent with a veg chamber and a flower chamber ,right now im in the midst of setting up the veg chamber and im thinking about using t5 and im woundering how they would work in a 2x4x2.5 space, i only have experience with hid lamps,so i would like to here from some experienced growers on there opinion weather i should go with a 250mh or if the t5 units would do the trick

thanks

I've never run a 250 watt lamp. But i do use t5's on seedlings and clones in veg and then move them to hid's when their big enough.

I would definetly run the 250mh over the t5's. Your plants are going to grow a little faster. Who doesn't want that right? The hid is gonna have much better light penetration as well. You're talkin roughly 30,000 lumens for the 250 mh and 20,000 lumens for a 4 bulb t5 fixture.

I'd be willing to bet that a t5 fixture would produce just as much heat as a 250 watt mh.

I prefer my 175w MH over my 2' 4 bulb 8000 lumens t5.

HID = better light penetration, and better spectrum if you have a good bulb.

Most t5s are like 6400k for veg...with the MH youll have more options in regards to spectrum...although for vegging in a space that small its not a huge deal
