I just don't like the effects anymore  . I rather be sober to be honest.
Opiates however...have not changed for me so far, I love them every time.
I still like psychedelics as well.
I'm just not liking pot anymore  , I use to really love it.

I haven't smoked in two days and I feel great/clear minded...
but I still miss it, but not as much as I used to when not having it.
But I agree, I would much rather have opiates.

well, I pretty much have quit, I rarely even do it anymore. I haven't smoked daily in about 2 years. Its just...irritating, I want my old highs back. It was sort of a weird cycle, I smoked daily for a few months,then I ran out of money for a little bit so I stopped for a month. And then I tried to get back into it...but it just wasn't the same. I got it from the same guy . So every once in a while, I will try it again, to see if I will like it again. Like I am trying to force myself to like it again. Uhhhg, it makes me so angry, that it changed on me like that. Its fucking bullshit.

i kinda feel ya. i hate to say it cuz of how long me and mary have been together, but i dont smoke like i used to and now when i smoke its like i almost get too high for it to be enjoyable. not like a good too high either. its gets to me a little bit. but i think its good for me...
just hard to find the time to really mind out
i also enjoy psychs still, but weeds just strange to me anymore...

Maybe a break would be good. Lower the tolerance and all, but be careful liking the opiates so much. Believe me, it will not end good one a habit.

If he hasn't been smoking daily for 2 years I don't think that he'd be having tolerance problems. Well, at least not a problem of too much tolerance.
It could easily be a problem of too little tolerance. Several months ago I took a week off smoking weed to get my tolerance down and clear my head. Well, in the absence of weed, my schoolwork started tanking, so I went and picked up some more weed. The problem was, like aDos said, it just wasn't the same. My tolerance had dropped, and it just made me all fuzzy and tired; it even caused me to take several hour naps in the middle of the day the first two days after I started smoking again, and I never do that. Basically I just forced myself to keep smoking more for a couple days to get my tolerance back up, and the effects that I enjoy returned.
Some people claim that moderation is the key with cannabis, but I can only get the desired effects with constant use.

I go through phases-- I've put it down completely for three months at a stretch, and never missed it, and I've smoked every night for a week-- but my happy medium is a night or two during the week, plus part (or most) of the weekend.
One thing that struck me about the poster's comments though was the change in the high he perceived... sounds like he's smoking different weed, with different effects--
if there's one thing I know for absolute certain, it's the fact that some weed just doesn't "click" with some people, while other strains knock your socks off and leave others underwhelmed.
I'm only suggesting that his contact is selling him different type/quality of green (which can vary from plant-to-plant, even within the same strain) than what he remembers.
Just my 2 cents...
Cannabis is a great tool-- don't give up on it until you know you are really "over" it, and not just tokin' on some mediocre or poor-fitting green

I wouldn't be so sure. Especially in my first few years of smoking, I would notice the sort of effects that I got from cannabis shift and change periodically. This most likely has to do with the different relative buildups of cannabinoids and cannabinoid metabolites. Some of those things have halflives of over 3 days! And of course then there's the fact that receptors regulate various parts of the signal transduction pathways based on chronic exposure. There's a lot of variables there that can easily lead to different effects from the same pot based on idiosynchratic usage patterns over the years.

well, a lot of people are able to function being high all day everyday, but I am pretty sure theres quite a few unemployed people here.
Its easy to be fucked up all the time, and a student. Its better that way imo.

I get the same shit along with a fucking cloudy mind, yearning to smoke all the time, and paranoia-induced antisocialism. 
I only smoke twice a week at the most nowadays.

I kind of want to smoke tons when I'm a student this upcoming year.
I also don't want to fuck up my life though :P
I'm a lot nicer I'm told when I'm doing drugs frequently.
I quit everything cold turkey for a while just to prove to someone I could and I was wayyy worse than I usually am. Booze makes me an asshole usually.
*shrugs* i'll see how hard university is (college)

if i was a 24/7 smoker now, it would become just like every sober day within about a week.

I ended up having to move away from a job, and than losing one (because the truck i was in broke and they didnt want to replace it), now im looking. But I have had about a month of being able to smoke whenever i want. at first it was all the time. but i found myself just not being interested in smoking. ive still been toking alot though and i have to say heavy usage has a real impact on my day to day. without smoking a find it a chore to tolerate certain people and other similar effets.
anyways i just took a 3 day break and smoked tonight and i feel great. the high is there unlike when i was smoking too much. im in the process off getting hooked up with a job so yeah. its going good... smoking nights is key. nights and wkend afternoons. unless im hung i wont smoke in the morning. and I've stopped drinking considerably.
