Just registered so I could ask this question, because I can't seem to find it answered anywhere else.
I'm hitting the road for a couple days, 7-8 at the most, and plants are ready to be flowered. I don't want to leave the lights unattended, even if they're auto, so could I leave them in total darkness for this length of time and slowly adjust them to flowering cycle immediately upon return?
Yeah I guess you could but their gonna hate you for it. Most likely there will be some shock. I personally would never do this. Situations like these are what light timers are for.

I'm in the same boat. I'm cancelling my plan if I can't make sure they are cared for. They could go hermaphrodite too from light shock what what I've heard.

Yup they can go hermie and it's a pretty common way for it to happen.
