Okay so iv'e been looking through the web to find countless of pictures of small grow cabs. Pc grows, small cabinet grows, I see a couple of intake-outtake fans and 200-150w worth of cfl intalled in them. How? How do they manage the heat? Iv'e built myself a nice grow box that is about a meter in height and 3/4th of a meter in length. The width is almost half a meter. So what gives? I installed 2 very good quality pc fans for intake and a large pc fan for outake. My cfl lighting is about 210 watts. And the heyl. in about 10 minutes the box is very warm, then another 10 minutes it is like a sauna(not really). But c'mon what am i doing wrong? Help! Thank you for the replies

you need fans blowing directly on the bulbs, from my experience.
some people use CFL and never look any other way cause their successful with them.. I personally hate them and they piss me off

You shouldnt need fans .for intake on a lil cab. Prolly be better to have more exhausts.

I've never grown in a cab (although I'm considering one these days), but this advice makes sense. Maximize your exhaust air and make sure you've got plenty of passive intake.
Also, other than the intake and exhaust fans, do you have any fans circulating the air INSIDE the cab? The friction from the light hitting the plant leaves is what causes the inside to heat up so much (and causes the plants to perspire, causing the "sauna" affect you described), and a small fan or two inside gently blowing the leaves around can have a HUGE affect on the temperature (both the surface temp of the leaves and the ambient air temp as well)...
