so im guessing that it was a lack of water that made them droop really bad.

It was a good time to transplant.  It obviously had something wrong in there as well, so getting fresh soil to it, even if it's not time to transplant, was necessary.

I can understand someone concern about having someone who has no experience being a caregiver.  But as long as they know and are okay with it, then no one can say shit.

yes the person does know that this is my first time growing,The person who im being a caregiver for ive know for a long time , and asked me to be his caregiver.

I  know that this is for medicine usage and its not something im taking lightly. That is why I been asking all the question when I think ive seen something wrong cause I want to make sure I can do this right and be able to supply him the best meds I can possible be able to.

The proper solution to this easily avoidable problem.... [Re: Mrshroom]
    #665846 - 04/12/13 12:45 PM (10 years, 11 months ago)

when you water.. at least 1/4 of what you put in should come out... that goes for the nute watering AND the plain old water.. using the nute/water/nute/water schedule is best.. ONLY water when the top of the soil is starting to dry..

another thing.... water slowly! and water right in the middle of the pot and let it fill up so it touches every edge... sit there and let that drain a little then add some more.. every water you should have to pour out at least a 1/4-1/2 gallon PER POT... this removes those nasty salts you don't want and will keep your pH balanced as well... always test the FIRST little bit of runoff.. I keep my SOIL pH at around 6.8

and that was totally nute burn and under-watering combined.. the tips of all the lower leaves dried and discolored and then it was supplemented by shriveling leaves.. that is what both of those things look like together..

cool thanks for the input.

what I have been trying to do for watering is I mix up all my nuts in one gallon batches and then take 16oz plastic cup and water with that. been trying to go slow, but I will go slower then I have been to make sure its getting wet threw out the soil.

when I just watered it was about 5 days after the last watering and I ran about a half gallon of water threw the 1 gallon pots that were about 3/4ths full.  so I thought I would be good cause people were telling me to give a it a good amount of time dry before next watering.

im going to check the girls tomorrow and see how they are doing for water cause tomorrow night will make 3 days sense the last watering and im not going to let it dry out as much as I did last time.

yeah man.. you gotta check on em every day too.. like this guy is implying here.. i know when something is starting to go bad as soon as it appears because i know every inch of my babies... this is a good way to make sure big problems dont actually HURT the grow more than they have to... i dont wait for the whole first inch of every leaf to burn before i know it's nute burn.. since my first solution is to flush completely and then rewater with half strength nutes.. and then go to full strength the next time.. easy as pie brehhh

oh I do check on them every day,  But for the watering part like I said, I was told to give it a good amount of tiem in between watering so that way I would not be checking the soil damp ness everyday for a couple days after I just watered. but I do check on them everyday to check humidity and temp and check out the leafs.

Half strength feeding after nute burn? Isn't that too much? It's not like the flush pulls nutrients out of the plant

I barely ever get up to full strength feeding. Like last 2-3 weeks maybe.

and whati mean is "half" of the amount you usually give them.. my nutes are completely mixed by me strength wise.. i don't follow shit.. i go by what the plant needs and what the soil is holding at that moment..

As long as the soil was saturated it should be fine.

The run off can give you an idea of the the pH of the soil is at.

I just watered the girls a few mins ago and the ph going in was at 6.5 and the ph of the run off was at 5.7-5.8

So then it would put it in the ball park of 6.2 or so
